Banana Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
This was a nice change from traditional banana bread, although i didn't even taste that much banana in this one. if you get a banana bread craving, this might not quite satisfy it, but i definitely would try this again

We Be Jammin' Jamaican Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2006
this was ok. I love banana bread! the best part of this was the topping on the bread. i ended up cutting the top off and just eating that. probably won't make again, i'll just make my regular banana bread.

Pork-n-Beans Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2005
This cake is one where people say, "mmmm, what's this?" after tasting it, and the look on their faces is quite amusing after you tell them there's a can of pork and beans! My roommate made this for a dietetics class once, and she said that nobody could tell what it was made out of! So it's kind of a joke that we make it for each other's birthday every year now. but it really is pretty good, nice and moist and it does in fact taste similar to a spice cake. I haven't tried any type of icing or frosting, but I have made this cake quite a few times, and though people may be hesitant, they will surprise themselves after tasting this one!

Tasty Tuna Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2005
Very yummy! i used half crushed dill pickle potato chips and half bread crumbs. I also ommitted the worcestershire sauce as i didn't have any, and used a dash of chili powder instead of sauce. Just fried them up and ate with ketchup! yummy!

Amazing Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2005
Wow, this is great! i used vanilla yogurt instead of mayo as another reviewer suggested, and bread crumbs instead of the crackers. I also did double the topping and saute the onions in a bit of butter before, but everything else just as is. My roommate can't stop eating it! I seriously think she ate half of the dish! A great way to use up butternut. oh, and i did bake the squash in halves in 350 degree oven for 1 hour before, scooped it out, and beat everything together with a hand-held mixer to combine. Great recipe!

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2005
YUMMMY! I wanted to make some bread for dinner, and didn't know what to make. but we were making cheese and rice brats, and figured what would go better with brats than beer bread?! Followed recipe exactly, turned out wonderfully. My other 3 roommates and I pretty much finished off the loaf in one sitting! Very nice, crunchy texture on top and wonderful with warm butter! Thanks for sharing!

Raspberry Sour Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2005
oh my gosh! this may be one of my new favorite muffin recipes, and i am a huge fan of muffins! These really are melt-in-your-mouth muffins, and the lemony topping is the perfect finishing touch! I will make these over and over and over.....well, you get the point. Your taste buds will definitely thank you for this one.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2005
Wow, these are incredible. I love anything pumpkin, especially warm and during fall. I did add another egg and used 2-1/2 cups of milk as well. But they taste wonderful, especially on this cold, fall morning. My roommates couldn't stop raving about them. Yum, yum. Definitely a keeper! Thanks!

Granola

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2005
This was really good granola! smells like banana bread when it's baking, but it did take longer than recipe says to get crunchy. my one roommate (who is extreeeemely picky about food) ate half the bag in one day! i added dried mixed fruit, raw chopped walnuts, slivered almonds, and sesame seeds after.

Ham Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2005
This was good, my roommate really liked it, but it was just ho-hum for me. I mean, it was very filling, but I don't think I'll make it again for a while.

Zucchini Yogurt Multigrain Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2005
These were a little different than i expectd, but still very good. I did also prefer them the next morning. I only made half the batch, but they turned out very moist and flavorful. A good way to use zucchini from the farmer's markets!

Watermelon Fire and Ice Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2005
ok, i know most everybody liked this, and one of my friends did, but the rest of my family and i couldn't take more than a bite....i don't know if it's because we have a similar recipe to this one (using tomatoes), but something about the watermelon and cilantro mix didn't go well for us.

Pear Bread I

This was a really good bread, used up some ripe pears! I made it as is, very good toasted. next time i'm going to try with applesauce for part of the oil to keep it moist.

Honey Bran Muffins

excellent recipe! they were nice and moist. did not have pineapple juice, so i used an 8oz can of crushed, and added a cup of water to compensate. mine made a few more muffins than suggested. but i wouldn't change a thing. my roommates keep eating them, they won't be around long!

This was a good recipe, but seemed very strong to me- i don't know if i had bad garlic or what, but otherwise, it was tasty. i'll have to try it again and see. my roommate loved it though!

Peanut Noodles

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2004
This was excellent! A local chinese place here has a dish called "peanut butter chicken" and is very similar to this--my favorite! (I did add cut, sliced chicken breasts to this recipe and sprinkled a few green onion tops over before serving). my family loved it and it was easy to make.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2004
This soup was good, had a very different flavor than other soups. My roommate was very skeptical about putting peanut butter into the soup, but she agreed that it added a nice unique flavor. Will make again.
