About this Cook
I have been married since 1997, and my hubby and I have 3 kids. My husband did most of the cooking for the first year of our marriage, as I hated to cook. I've discovered AllRecipes.com and Taste of Home since then, thank goodness!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake; I make a themed cake for each of my kids' birthdays. The first cakes I made were Bob and Larry from VeggieTales. I also love my KitchenAid mixer and Crock Pot.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom taught me how to make a simple beef stroganoff when I was about 10; that's probably my most-requested recipe (especially from my dad).
My cooking triumphs
I made the Tiramisu Layer Cake (from this site) for Mother's Day 2004 and got so many positive comments on it, I made it for Father's Day as well. I also made chocolate chip cookies recently, and I discovered that chilling the dough for an hour or so before actually baking the cookies makes them turn out so much better that way!
My cooking tragedies
I have never been able to make bread by hand very well (that's why I have a bread machine). I attempted to make peanut butter cookies, but they stuck more to the spoon than on the pan. Oh well.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)
This cake tasted good, but the milk mixture made WAY too much. I used half of that mixture; any more would have made the cake soggy. Also, I didn't end up with 3 layers, and I followed the recipe (although I skipped the whipped cream part and used chocolate frosting instead).

Chicken Enchiladas I
My hubby and I LOVED this recipe! The only thing I changed was that I substituted (pickled ) jalapeno pepper for the green bell pepper. It definitely "kicks it up a notch"! Thanks for the great recipe; I will make it again.

Honey Garlic BBQ Sauce II
I absolutely LOVED this barbecue sauce! I made a few slight changes: I only used 2 tsp. of garlic; I didn't have any molasses, so I used light corn syrup instead; omitted the Cajun seasoning; used Tabasco Chipotle sauce instead of the hot sauce. Yum!
