Pasta Primavera with Lemon-Caper Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2015
Wow! I have made many versions of Pasta Primavera and this is the one I will keep & make forever! The sauce is fantastic.... I used the frozen peas, but had to do fresh finely diced carrots (just saute them first) and I had no asparagus (even canned would have been nice, but NONE), so I diced a fresh green bell pepper to substitute. I think this yields well to a couple variations on the veggies. I stuck to the sauce though and it is wonderful.

Hot Toddy

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2015
This is a very strong Hot Toddy recipe. I recommend if you drink this (especially if sick) to be ready to crawl into bed to drink this and stay in bed, do NOT go outside or try to do anything after you drink it if it's cold weather especially. Do not walk the dog after, just go to bed.

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2014
I have done this recipe so many times..... yes, on my own. Kind of like you, with what I could afford or had. I need a much smaller ham, so this year I could only find a 6.5 lb ham, but tomorrow I will still use the full sauce amount, cause it is so good to have for the left overs. I do not understand how anyone could not totally love this recipe. Oh yes, this year I am lucky enough to have some home grown Tangerines to use in my sauces..... heaven, just heaven.

Contadina® Hawaiian-Style Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2014
I haven't used the chunks for a long time.. I prefer the crushed or Tidbits.... but that is just me. Easy & great, simple recipe. And drain the pineapple really well and the ham needs to be blotted if from the package, or pizza will be too wet. Also, do NOT use a big square cut slice of ham.. slice in in thin strips or again, won't blend as well. Just my tried and all that experience. But very quick and very easy to make and oh so delish.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2014
I read a review about being southern and this was not a good corn bread. Well horse hockey.. this is a fabulous recipe. I am born, bred and now retired here in the south. And I have to admit that I never liked cornbread before made any other than the Southern way.... but this is a great recipe. I took a chance cause I like to try new and different recipes and this was sooooo very worth it. I thought it went perfectly with my little, butt portion, ready to eat ham. And for breakfast with milk and warmed a touch in the micro.

Easy Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2014
Easy veggie beef soup and oh so good. I have made it the same way for many years. If you are in a hurry and/or so very tired after work.. don't bother to brown the ground beef.. cause by the time you grab the veggies or chop the onion you are good to go. I don't buy the really icky, fatty beef, so I never brown the meat. Put extra seasonings in if you want.... the food police are not going to come in the middle of the night. This recipe is perfect as is.

Easy and wonderful. I just don't see the need to roll dough for dumplings. I grew up loving these very fluffy kind.

Dragon Eggs

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2014
I did a trial run this morning with only 2 eggs, cause that is all I had....... and great recipe and technique. I can not stop chuckling over the remark of disgusting looking........ lol.... that is the point for Halloween. I will make these again soon...... after all it won't be long till Halloween and I am all for these cute recipes. I also do Martha Stewarts "Bat Wings" and they are black and creepy and wonderful tasting and I don't care for chicken that much.

Corn and Rice

Reviewed: May 13, 2014
I make this to save money, never knew others did as well and did not know it was Bahamian. I do it a tadge different each time, depending on what I have. I usually use an entire large onion, whole green bell pepper, at least one 8 oz can of tomato sauce and sometimes another can of diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano. I love tomatoes and the veggies, but not a huge fan of rice, so I use only 1 cup of rice.... and just drain the liquids and add enough water or stock OR water and a bouillon cube to make 1 1/2 cups of liquid. And beans of any kind are good in this too. I am sure it is okay to personalize this... most folks do, less they don't have cooking experience. As is, this recipe is great.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
Yuuuummm! I have made similar, very similar since I was a kid and I did not know what cilantro was..... no joke (to me it was only coriander)... but it is a good soup. If you want more seasoning, do you 'thing', but it is a great soup.

Mama's Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2012
This is a great recipe. I do the same just about, but I add a little more herbs. I do like the small meatballs.. so I can get a bit of veggie on my spoon along with the meat. You won't be disappointed if you use this recipe.

Stroopwaffels I

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2012
I want to ask if anyone has ever tried making the cookie in just a fry pan? I do not have a Pizelle or a waffle cone maker either and NO money to buy one. I have been wanting MORE of these cookies for years. A chat friend brought me a package of them when he came to visit me. Well, when I took my first bite (not expecting much) I was so in love with them I did not stop eating till they were gone. Then I thought I would cry. Thank you so much for this recipe. My Dutch friends sent me a recipe, but to translate it into US measurements was not really clear (treacle) and such.
