Korean BBQ Beef (Pul-Kogi)

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
Family loved this. I never have rice wine available so I used white, a tablespoon isn't much anyway and I didn't have any fresh ginger so I used ground dried ginger. Served with steamed white rice. Great!

This dressing is great. I will never buy another bottle of Ranch dressing again. And so simple to prepare!

Osso Buco

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
Excellent flavor. I used beef broth for the water though and also about a half cup of wine. This is fantastic over polenta!

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
This is just too awesome for words. I don't like the taste of frozen strawberries, so I always use fresh. The crust is definitely hard, but who cares, it tastes great!

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2006
This sauce is delicious. Not too sweet and the vinegar gives it an interesting tang. Not complicated to prepare either.

Baked Eggs in Canadian Bacon Cups

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2006
Great low carb breakfast. I don't even put the veggies in, we just like the egg baked in the canadian bacon cup.

Grandma's Peach French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
This is excellent as is. Next time, though, I will cut the french bread a bit thinner, 1/2 inch slices, also I will dip the slices of bread in the egg mixture. These modifications are just personal preferences. For presentation I will dust with powdered sugar after baking.

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2007
I'm always looking for different ways to prepare veggies. We really liked this. My son went back for third's! I liked that it wasn't heavy like a traditional casserole too.

Cheese Potato Puff

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2007
These are great mashed potatoes. They're kind of like twice baked potatoes that you don't put back in the skins. Great for a crowd or 2 hungry teenage boys and a husband.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2007
This is my new favorite recipe for Prime Rib. A little something more than just salt and pepper but certainly doesn't steal the show. With Prime Rib, simplicity with the spices is best as this cut of meat can speak for itself. I love the taste of garlic with beef and this is just enough to enhance the wonderful flavor of the meat.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2007
This is very easy and delicious. Obviously you can't beat slow roasting on a smoker, but in the dead of Winter this hits the spot. I seasoned the meat with some salt, pepper, garlic powder and sage prior to roasting. I don't have a slow cooker so I roasted the meat covered in the oven at about 325 degrees. Definitely the barbeque sauce will make or break this. We like KC Masterpiece Original flavor. It turned out great.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
Very good cornbread especially if you like it sweet, and I do. I heated my baking pan in the oven while the oven was preheating then put about a tablespoon of butter in the pan to melt, swished it around and then poured the batter in. Made a nice crunchy crust!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
These are awesome! I prefer using butter rather than margarine for the cinnamon filling, it tastes better. I forgot to soften it first, however I used a pastry blender to cut it into the sugar & cinnamon and it worked fine. Super easy to prepare.

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
Excellent soup. I didn't read through the recipe first so I had to make 2 modifications. I had to use dried parsley and thyme. I used 1/2 tsp. parsley and 1/4 tsp. thyme and I only had enough swiss for one piece on top. Even with the modifications, we still rate this a 5. It has a deep full bodied flavor. Can't wait to try it again, but I will make sure I have the right amount of cheese and the fresh herbs.

Loved the spice blend. I marinated for 8 hours and the seasoning was subtle. Next time I will marinate overnight and see if there is a difference.

Missy's Candied Walnut Gorgonzola Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
Loved this salad. Great combination of sweet, salty and cheesy. However, I used shaved parmesan cause I just don't like gorgonzola or any type of blue cheese for that matter.
