Pork Tenderloin with Creamy Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2007
This was very flavorful. Be careful how long you simmer these, the thickness of your medallions will determine the length of time. I cut mine about 1/2 inch thick and 20 minutes was too long, they were a bit dry. I will watch that closer next time. My family likes highly seasoned food so I will also add some salt and pepper as well.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
This was good, certainly didn't have the wow factor, but nevertheless a decent soup. We thought it could use some chopped carrot, so the next time, I will make that addition and see if that changes things.

Great side dish and I even forgot the basil. Can't wait to try it again with the basil!

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
We love asparagus prepared just about any way. I've roasted it before but never used the shaved parm and balsamic. Will definitely make it again this way.

Missy's Candied Walnut Gorgonzola Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
Loved this salad. Great combination of sweet, salty and cheesy. However, I used shaved parmesan cause I just don't like gorgonzola or any type of blue cheese for that matter.

Crab Rangoon III

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
The texture was a bit dry. I guess I'm just used to restaurant crab rangoon that barely has any crab. Seems theirs is mostly cream cheese. Makes a great dip too!

Puerto Rican Pork Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
My family loves highly seasoned foods so they thought this was terrific. I would like to try cooking this on the smoker too. I also like the idea of making a paste with the spices, evenly distributes them. Leftovers the next day were delicious too.

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
Excellent soup. I didn't read through the recipe first so I had to make 2 modifications. I had to use dried parsley and thyme. I used 1/2 tsp. parsley and 1/4 tsp. thyme and I only had enough swiss for one piece on top. Even with the modifications, we still rate this a 5. It has a deep full bodied flavor. Can't wait to try it again, but I will make sure I have the right amount of cheese and the fresh herbs.

Butter Schnitzel

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
The breading for this recipe is definitely good. I would use it again for breaded pork chops. However, I wasn't really impressed with the sauce. The amount of butter seems a bit excessive. It was oily and the flavor was flat. I had to add additional seasonings to enhance the flavor.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
These are awesome! I prefer using butter rather than margarine for the cinnamon filling, it tastes better. I forgot to soften it first, however I used a pastry blender to cut it into the sugar & cinnamon and it worked fine. Super easy to prepare.

The Best Sweet and Sour Pork Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
OMG! Did I read that right...2 cups of vinegar??? The only way to make this edible was to wipe the sauce off the meatballs. Nope, will not make this again. Sorry!

We didn't care for this. We like the tomatoes cooked much longer and the filling tasted wierd. I won't be making this again. Sorry!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2007
This is very easy and delicious. Obviously you can't beat slow roasting on a smoker, but in the dead of Winter this hits the spot. I seasoned the meat with some salt, pepper, garlic powder and sage prior to roasting. I don't have a slow cooker so I roasted the meat covered in the oven at about 325 degrees. Definitely the barbeque sauce will make or break this. We like KC Masterpiece Original flavor. It turned out great.

Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
This is a fantastic recipe. I had to make a few modifications because where I live in France, some ingredients are either not available or not exactly the same. Therefore, I substituted cheddar cheese for the american cheese and bacon for the ham. The other thing I always always do is sautee the vegetables (onion & celery) first. I just prefer the flavors that sauteeing brings out. I Fried the bacon and set aside. Used 2 tbsp. of bacon drippings to sautee the onion & celery then followed the recipe as stated. I added the bacon (crumbled) at the point where the ham would have been added. This is by far my favorite potato soup recipe that I've tried.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2007
This is my new favorite recipe for Prime Rib. A little something more than just salt and pepper but certainly doesn't steal the show. With Prime Rib, simplicity with the spices is best as this cut of meat can speak for itself. I love the taste of garlic with beef and this is just enough to enhance the wonderful flavor of the meat.

Cheese Potato Puff

These are great mashed potatoes. They're kind of like twice baked potatoes that you don't put back in the skins. Great for a crowd or 2 hungry teenage boys and a husband.

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

I'm always looking for different ways to prepare veggies. We really liked this. My son went back for third's! I liked that it wasn't heavy like a traditional casserole too.
