OMG this cookie is SOOO GOOD! Cripsy edges, chewy middle! You need to pack them up right away or you will eat them until your sick! I did follow suggestions from other bakers and made a few substitutions: 1 cup oatmeal flour for regular flour, used 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 1/2cups brown sugar and I didn't dissolve the baking soda in the water, but did use the hot water. Some may not find it relevant, but I bake with unsalted butter so I also used about a full tsp of salt and I only used 1 cup of chocolate chips because my son has never really cared for a "loaded" cookie, and one cup is plenty for us.
