Outstanding chowder recipe, one I'll make again and again.

Lentil Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
Nice for a quick meal. I used canned lentils (rinsed and drained) and a large (~26 oz) can of pasta sauce for the tomatoes specified in the recipe.

Brownie Crackles

Reliable and easy. I used peanut butter chips instead of chocolate because I had them on hand. Probably better with the chocolate.

Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
Made the recipe as written, probably should have taken more care to tweak as suggested by other reviewers. Cookies are very flat and crispy, not strong of Nutella flavor, but tasty.

Pepperoni Pizza Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
What a nice, savory muffin! I made 12 hearty muffins from this recipe, using reduced-fat baking mix and cheeses and turkey pepperoni. They have a mild pizza aroma and flavor reminiscent of the pizza from our favorite Greek pizza shop. I'm going to try using pizza sauce (good idea!) and adding garlic next time and see which version we prefer. Thank you, Andrea, for sharing your recipe.

Maple Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
These are fabulous! So easy and they taste great! I cooked and drained the sausage, added the baking mix and reduced-fat shredded cheese. To bind the dough, I used just enough real maple syrup to hold the batter together. Great snack for the whole family.

Kielbasa Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
Simple to prep, delicious and nutritious. I used Jennie-O turkey kielbasa, low-sodium canned soups, and served over pierogies. Plenty of leftovers for lunches. Will definitely make again.

Cappuccino Bon-Bons

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
Outrageous! A new favorite at our house that's for sure. I loved how easy the recipe went together and how delicious the brownies turned out. I got 36 minis from the batch, which was perfectly alright with my family and DBF's co-workers.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
OUTSTANDING! I've made this twice already this month. I add a can of cream-style corn and a can of fat-free evaporated milk to the pot after the potatoes are tender, omitting the flour and milk. I foresee making it many, many more times in the future.

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
Loved the seasoning/flavors of this recipe. I used dried beans (navy and kidney) because I had them on hand and had the time to prep them. Took the beans to a family dinner; everyone loved them!

Kielbasa with Honey Mustard

Very tasty! A nice change for us; I usually saute kielbasa with spicy mustard and Worcestershire sauce.

Love this! So easy and versatile, a really great foundation for homemade sauce, especially with all the tomatoes from the garden!

Slow-Cooked White Chili

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
Very good. Easy to prepare and versatile. I added a small head of cauliflower, chopped into florets, to the ingredients listed. We found the liquid to be more thin than we like, so next time I'll add some instant potato flakes to the broth.

Summer Squash Casserole with Nuts

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
Delicious and a versatile way to feature summer squash, as well using ingredients you might have on-hand. I can visualize oodles of combinations. I used green onions (scallions) for the onion, microwaved the squash, onion and pepper to soften them (no butter or sugar used), and light sour cream in place of the mayo. Added a handful of dried cranberries for color and subbed in a handful of pine nuts for the pecans.

Linguine Pasta with Shrimp and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
Lovely. I added garden-fresh peas, broccoli, and roasted corn to (canned) diced tomatoes. Used about 1/4 cup of wine. I should have drained the tomatoes and will next time.

Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
Adding my own rave review here. This bread is insanely, ridiculously good. DBF said it was like the chocolate part of a banana split. His co-workers inhaled both loaves (except for the two pieces I cut for us). I was skeptical about the combination but with six bananas taking up freezer space the temptation was too great. I'm so glad I did. The flavor combination is terrific, with neither banana nor chocolate overwhelming the other. A definite keeper. Thanks for sharing, Tracie. PS, I cut each loaf into 8 slices and then in half down the middle for a total of 32 servings.

Crisp Little Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
This is an exact duplicate of a recipe called Lemon Crisps. It is easy and fast to make up, tastes great, can be modified as you like, and ships well. Our younger boy is in the Navy; these cookies endure shipping and are a big hit upon arrival! I would say the texture of the finish cookie is more chewy than crispy but no one complains at our house. :-)

Jo-Ann's Power Bars

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
This recipe is amazing! Not only delicious and a huge hit at our house but it's hugely versatile. Taking tips from other reviewers, I was able to custom fit the bars to our tastes and what I had on hand. I left out the nuts (inadvertently) and used molasses in place of the oil. Substituted All-Bran Buds for the GrapeNuts and a combination of ground flax and protein powder for the flour. I'll definitely be making these again.

Irish Potato Candy

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
Outstanding! These were a huge hit at the office for St. Patrick's Day. I was going to make them again and use colored sugar in the cinnamon for Easter but ran out of time. Definitely a keeper.
