Applesauce Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
Ridiculously easy to make and oh so good. We skipped the frosting and are having them for breakfast. Delicious with dried currants added.

Banana Loaf

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
Another rave review. This banana bread was a big hit with our Sailor who is home on leave. We won't have to worry about whether or not to freeze leftovers. Very flavorful. I used half brown sugar and half Splenda, egg substitute, and white whole wheat flour. Added the vanilla and cinnamon suggested by other reviewers. This bread smells heavenly when it's baking.

Taiwanese Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
Nice flavor, we enjoyed these. I made the sauce and poured it over the chops (no cornstarch) in my slowcooker. Very tasty with jasmine rice and green beans also sprinkled with Chinese five-spice powder.

Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
We enjoyed this tremendously! I used chicken sausage (dietary preference) but otherwise followed the recipe. We're soup people and this one is now in the "keeper" file. Thanks so much!

Butterscotch Drops

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
Quick and easy way to create a fun no-bake cookie for a crowd. I used Honey Bunches of Oats instead of Corn Flakes. Made a batch of 18 with butterscotch and another batch of 18 with chocolate chips. All gone.

Maple Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
These are simply wonderful. I used Grade B real maple syrup for a more robust maple flavor and omitted the vanilla. Added a handful of chopped walnuts because we like maple and walnut together. Rolled the cookies in a mix of maple sugar and granulated sugar. A new favorite at our house!

Savory Sausage, Cheese and Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
We enjoyed these. I'm putting them in the "rotation" of savory muffins that we enjoy with soup or by themselves for breakfast.

Parmesan Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
A huge hit with the menfolk in my world. Easy to make. I tossed a couple of cups of frozen peas in near the end so we'd have a green veggie to go with the meat and potatoes. A very hearty soup!

Easy and delicious! Definitely a keeper. I used fat-free evaporated milk and omitted the cheese (forgot it).

Outstanding! I add walnuts for that "maple-walnut" flavor that we love.

Raspberry Truffle Fudge

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Very good! As others mentioned, I didn't get the pink color, even used white chips, and the top didn't set as I thought it would. But the crew LOVED the fudge and it was almost gone in a day. Fudge rules!

Jeanne's Chocolate Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Huge hit with the engineers where DBF works. I dropped the dough by cookie scoop into cupcake papers (so people could handle them more easily) and used Hershey's cherry cordial kisses. My yield was 30 cookies.

Slow Cooker Pork Cacciatore

Delicious and a nice change from chicken. I used red wine instead of white because it was open.

Split Pea Soup without Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
Very nice. I used vegetable broth instead of chicken and added some diced ham at the very end. Cut the water back to 2 cups and then added more near the end to get the consistency I wanted.

Crunchy Pumpkin Pie Granola

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Like others have said, not sure about the "pumpkin pie" part BUT using the applesauce instead of oil is OUTSTANDING. I'll cut out one of the nuts next time to keep the calories down.
