Irish Potato Candy

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2014
Everybody who tried these loved them!! Really easy recipe to put together. I rolled the "potatoes"in pure cacao powder in place of cinnamon because I was out. Instead of rolling out balls using my hands I used a mini ice cream scoop, dropping them into the cacao powder. I had no problems with the mix at all, didn't even chill it.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2012
I used this fondant on my daughters birthday cake this year, it was really good. I'm not a big fan of having a thick layer of regular fondant on cake. It looks nice but doesn't taste very good unless it's super thin. I used marshmallow fluff to make this a little easier, the finished product was super sweet (obviously) which worried me that it would make the cake to sweet. Even with the icing and cake underneath everything still tasted wonderful! I won't use regular fondant again.

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
This recipe actually does make pretty good potato chips :) The only thing I didn't like was that it took us forever to make enough chips for everybody. This method is probably best for those late night cravings for one or two people.

Tarte a L'oignon (French Onion Pie)

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
We just finished eating this for supper with corn on the cob, it was super good! I didn't use bacon because we didn't have any. Funny thing is that without even saying anything, my husband said it would have been even better if I put some bacon in... So note to self: make sure to add the bacon :)

Pie Crust IV

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
I love this pie crust! All I did was throw everything into my food processor, whiz it up until it came together, and BAM! instant pie crust. I also used butter flavoured Becel instead of shortening, just my personal preference.

Corn Dog Bites

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
I personally enjoyed these, my family doesn't like corn muffins but they liked these ones! The hot dogs make all the difference. I also used a regular muffin tin because I didn't have a mini one.

Avocado, Tomato and Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
I was hesitant to make this salsa because of how the mango was going to blend with the flavours. I'm glad I tried this, it was super good! The mango gives a subtle sweetness that I really liked.

Daddy K's Milk Boiled Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
Everybody loved this corn!! My husband couldn't see the point in putting all this stuff in the pot, but after we sat down and started to eat he said that it tasted like the corn already had everything on it. This was the first time we didn't eat our corn with butter :)

Blender Hollandaise Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
For me this hollandaise was just okay, it wasn't like the stuff you get at restaurants. It was fine on our eggs but not what I was looking for.

My family enjoyed this recipe! The potatoes had a nice mellow sweet flavour. A nice change from the herb potatoes we always have.

Crunchy French Toast Sticks

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
My family really enjoyed this! It was a welcome change from regular french toast. I kept the temperature low enough as to not burn the cereal but hot enough to cook all the way through. My family said next time I make this they want to try it with frosted flakes for the added sugar.

Everybody loved this recipe! It was such a great change from the fajitas we always have. I cooked the chicken with a stick of cinnamon, it added a nice layer of flavour to everything.

Real Homemade Bagels

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
This is a pretty good bagel recipe! I added onion flakes and poppy seeds into the dough instead of on top. Make sure to use the parchment paper otherwise the bottoms get overcooked and to brown.

Turkey Veggie Meatloaf Cups

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
I really enjoyed these! very fresh tasting with the vegetables, the bar-b-que sauce was a must for me to add flavour. My husband doesn't like turkey so I make a batch of these and freeze them. then just take out a couple and throw in the microwave. A great lunch!

Veggie Skewers

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2012
I loved the way the skewers looked, however for myself and my husband they didn't taste as good. The mushrooms and zucchini held the flavour well but it was all lemon. Not a bad recipe but could be tweaked.

Secret Burger Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2012
I personally enjoyed this sauce on my burger, it was a nice change from the usual. Reminds me of thousand island dressing. I did use sweet relish instead of pickles.
