Yummy Turkey Pot Pie

Great basic recipe for a pot pie and so easy! I did make my own changes (used biscuit dough and added lots of extra spices) but I love how simple this is and that the recipe doesn't use canned soup. Will make again.

Nanna's Banana Bread

Yum! This was my first banana bread and it was great! I didn't even bother with sifting or using a blender. Just mushed up the bananas and dumped everything else into the bowl. Very easy and made the house smell so good. I used chocolate chunks instead of walnuts.

Chocolate Trifle

Very good and very easy to make. I think next time I will try doing whipped cream as other reviewers suggested, just to see the difference. This recipe is definitely a crowd pleaser as written.

Sausage Corn Chowder

Delicious and very easy to make! I did have a few issues during preparation, but it still turned out great! One problem was that after I cooked the sausage and added the potatoes, the 2 cups of water as called for didn't cover the potatoes, so I had to add more water...2 more cups. I also forgot to drain the meat, so it's probably good that I had more water to spread the fat out. Next time I may consider cooking the potatoes in a separate pot so that I don't have to add all the extra water. Also instead of adding potato flakes as some reviewers recommend, I simply removed some of the potatoes with a slotted spoon and mashed them up to give the soup a creamier texture. The great thing about this soup is that is still tastes great even if you don't make it just like the recipe says!

Lisa's Favorite Carne Asada Marinade

This is out of this world amazing!!! My husband made this (with a few slight changes based on ingredients we had on hand) and it tasted very similar to some of the delicious steaks we had in our travels to Latin America that we were hoping to duplicate. We will definitely be making this again! I served it as a steak with sides of black beans, cilantro rice pilaf, homemade salsa and guacamole. Delicious!

Fudge Sauce

This was good, but I really do prefer a thicker fudge sauce. However, the great thing about this recipe is that it used ingreadients that I already had on hand. I would make this again for that reason. I left out the cinnamon.

Decorator Frosting I

Bruschetta with Shallots

This is one of my favorite recipes from this site! I usually will put it on top of garlic bread and top the tomato mixture with a little bit of parmesean cheese. Then I put it under the broiler for a minute just to melt the cheese. This is AMAZING!

Teriyaki Marinade IV

This turned out pretty good. Much better than using just the bottle of teriyaki sauce alone. I marinated chicken for a few hours and grilled it. Then served with white rice and broccoli.

Garam Masala Chicken

This was so easy to make and tasted great! I cut the chicken into cubes, used about 3 tsp garam masala, used a white onion instead of green onions, and also added peas like other reviewers. Then I served it over white rice. Oh, and I also added some extra salt too. I found a pre-made garam masala spice at my local health food store in the bulk spice section and that is what I used. This was my first attempt at an Indian inspired dish and was very happy with the results! Will definitely make again!

Honey Ginger Shrimp

Wow! The sauce for this was amazing! This is so easy to make and uses common ingredients which is a big plus. I did add a can of coconut milk, and increased the honey a lot...2TBsp. It was quite a bit spicier than I prefer so next time I will reduce the red pepper to maybe 1/2 TBsp. The flavor is really great even though it was too spicy for me. I also used fresh ginger because I happened to have some on hand.

Holiday Coffee Cake

This was very dense. It was ok, but not what I was hoping for. The day before I made this I had some coffee cake that a friend made from a boxed mix, and it was so much better than this I am sorry to say. I probably won't make this again as it was just average.

Yummy Chicken

Delicious! I wasn't sure what to expect because all of the ingredients were so simple, but this really was Yummy chicken. I made some changes based on what our tastes are. I used extra mushrooms, green onions and lots more garlic just because I really like all those things and also doubled the amount of sauce because my chicken breasts were really large and I tend to like lots of sauce. Also used apple cider because that's what I had on hand. Turned out so delicously moist and yummy. I think I will make this next time we have company over.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

I gave this recipe 3 stars because it is a tasty and very easy recipe that is great for busy people. I wasn't amazed by the taste ( I basically followed the recipe as is and did not use all of the suggestions from the many reviewers) but my husband and I definitely enjoyed it and I appreciated the simplicity. I could see that it could be improved with the other additions suggested if you have a little extra time.

Cider Cheese Fondue

This was my first time to try making fondue and it turned out great! I love this recipe because you can enjoy fondue on a small budget. Thanks for the great alternative to wine recipes. We really enjoyed this and I will make it again. I took other reviewers suggestions and used french bread (of course), apples, and li'l smokies as dippers. We made a full meal out of this. Very fun and delicious!
