Bacon Cheese Puffs

These were just ok. Edible, but not very enjoyable. They're extremely heavy and greasy. And I have no idea where the word "puff" comes from! It's just a greasy glob of bacon and cheese on toast. Didn't go over big in a group setting, they barely got touched. I probably won't make again.

Tater Tot Taco Salad

Absolutely delicious! The combination of potatoes with taco fixings is surprisingly tasty. I couldn't get over how much better this was than traditional nachos. We now make this at least once a week. Husband adds refried beans to his. I add taco sauce to mine. We tell all our friends and family to try this recipe!

Restaurant-Quality Baked Potato Soup

A very good soup! It's definitely a time investment to make this. But for all the trouble you get a very creamy, tasty restaurant-quality soup! Would've given 5 stars, but the basil and thyme were a bit strong. I will use this recipe again, but will ease off on those spices and add a good deal of garlic. I don't know what those earlier reviewers did wrong with their soups - but mine WAS NOT TOO THICK at all! It was just as thick as you get at the restaurants. Yummm.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Grrrreat dip! I'm not a veggie nut, so I left off the green peppers and olives. And I added a layer of store-bought guac. Yummmmm. Served with nacho cheese Doritos. I get RAVES about this dip. And since it has no beef, I don't worry about meat spoilage when setting out. Will make again and again.

Christmas Cornflake Wreath Cookies

Hands-down best Christmas cookie of the year! The flavor is just perfect and tasty - although explaining that it's just like a Rice Krispie treat without the Rice Krispies is a challenge. It's delicious, gooey, and addictive. The green color is nice and dark (not washed out like the photo above). These cookies looke VERY FESTIVE! NOTE TO THOSE MAKING FOR THE FIRST TIME: I got scared half way through nuking the marshmallows, seeing that all of them haddisappeared leaving nothing but butter in the bowl. Relax, it still turns out beautifully and marshmallowy. I might leave off the cinnamon candies (they're enough to break a tooth on!). But otherwise I'll be making these every year from now on. A+++++++++++++++++

BAKER'S Chocolate-Peppermint Bark

Simple and delicious. I love that this recipe is yummy, and that I have the time to make it during the mad-dash holiday prep. I added a bit of white chocolate swirl in with the semi-sweet, and enjoyed the flavor contrast along with the marble look. I'll be making these every Christmas!

Linzer Torte Cookies

This cookie smells much better than it tastes. The dough is rich with aromas of the cloves and lemon and cinnamon. But when the cookies have been baked they come out bland and clunky. Also had a problem in making the individual cookie cutter shapes - without baking the jam this became a very messy and sticky dessert. I finished all the cookies I made, but won't use this recipe again.

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

Mmmm...what a great and yummy dish on a chilly evening. I'm still in awe of how delicious it turned out...I can make great bread pudding! Wow! The apple was a great twist that didn't stand out too conspicuously, and was a great way to get rid of my extra apples. I like my bread pudding a tad thicker, so I added a bit more bread crumbs, but otherwise awesome. I would recommend skipping the sauce. I'll be making this lots more...anytime the snow starts flying.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

I'm a HUGE fan of cheese. But even I found that the ratio of noodles to cheese was WAY off. To the point where I find the recipe must contain a serious error. However, I was able to take this basic recipe and alter it--I changed up what types of cheese went in (aged white cheddar and Edam worked great). And then I added an extra cup of macaroni (and also doubled the recipe, as it wouldn't have made much otherwise). In then end it makes a really, really yummy mac & cheese. And I know I'll make it again.

Crispy Chicken with Honey Dipping Sauce

This was deeelicious! And very easy to make. But you have to be expecting a tangy, different flavor. Not your mom's bland chicken. As with others the chips didn't stay on very well, but as I was not serving this formally, I didn't care much. It got eaten up all the same, and it was tasty! I will make this again many times.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

These cookies were good...but not great. They were somewhat moist...but I was expecting a bit more based on other reviews. Family and friends weren't wowed by them, and many asked what happened to my old recipe.

Reuben Dip

This was a tasty dip for anyone with a reuben craving. The flavors blended well and it was really easy to throw together on a friday night! Next time I might add some extra corned beef, as I really would like that to be the star of the dish. But I'll definitely make this again!

My Chili

This was the perfect basic chili! The great thing about this recipe is that you can start with this, and then build your chili to your family's specifications. To suit my husband's tastes I added sharp cheddar cheese, 1/2 can beer, thick-cut pepper bacon, and some onion powder. It was absolutely delicious and simple. It was also a real breeze to make even for a first time chili cook!
