Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2013
For the first cheesecake I ever made it ended up awesome! I made it mango flavor, with real mangoes, on my dad's birthday. A bit of a mistake. It cooked well in the water bath and really was all cooked after a little more than an hour, but because of the rush I left it in the oven for only three hours afterwards and in the fridge for thirty minutes. We just wanted to eat it on his birthday. Putting it in the fridge that quickly didn't cause it to crack or anything, but the middle was soft and my mom thought it was undercooked. It was fine, but for it to get that cheesecake consistency we put the leftovers in the fridge and overnight it became perfect. Great recipe, you don't need to follow the ingredients to a T, but the water bath and the time is important to get right.

Coffee Mug Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
Did this one. I made it with chocolate but for some reason (though it could pretty well) was a little bit more on the rubbery side. Oh well. I will try this again since I often get random cravings for cake.

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
This is a very easy recipe to follow and comes out similar to a souffle. However, I didn't use all bittersweet chocolate. I put in 1 cup of bittersweet chocolate chips but when that didn't seem to be chocolaty enough I added in 1/4 cup sweet ground chocolate. It still seemed to be a bit dull, but I didn't want to change the recipe anymore. It came out nicely, but the taste was quite dull and I could strongly taste the egg. I'm hoping next time I feel like eating chocolate this recipe will come out better~

"Spa"ctacular Frozen Grapes

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2012
Our grapes were extra sweet, so we didn't use sugar. This is something we actually do quite often. Just sticking them in the freezer and getting them out two hours later works well for snacks. Mmmmmm.

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
Um, it wasn't that this was a bad recipe, but that me and the family messed up a bit on these... Let's start with we made 72 cupcakes at once.... and then we took out some sugar... substituted in some crushed hazelnuts... you know, the usual mess ups... Still tasted great!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
These ended up really nicely. The cookies were perfectly baked! Make sure you don't over cook these though, the perfect time for them was really 11 min. The nuts gave a nice crunch. Since I used all Ghirardelli chocolate and cocoa, it was very rich but the taste was amazing! I recommend them eaten at once, if you like them to be nice and gooey good! But if you are making them for other people, cool them completely or else they'll stick to each other when you put them in a container. I put my settings to 24 cookies, but for some reason ended up with 56. Doesn't matter to me because they were good, but I would be careful if I didn't like chocolate so much. I used salted butter and left out the kosher salt. The taste was good still. Great recipe, recommended if you like chocolate and brownies.
