I live in a very diverse family and community, so am exposed to many different types of cuisine, though am in full preference to sweets :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
European foods, mostly Romanian. So a lot of sweets. Though we don't necessarily eat in small portions all the time, we enjoy gourmet, french cafe style, and homemade.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
For the first cheesecake I ever made it ended up awesome! I made it mango flavor, with real mangoes, on my dad's birthday. A bit of a mistake. It cooked well in the water bath and really was all cooked after a little more than an hour, but because of the rush I left it in the oven for only three hours afterwards and in the fridge for thirty minutes. We just wanted to eat it on his birthday. Putting it in the fridge that quickly didn't cause it to crack or anything, but the middle was soft and my mom thought it was undercooked. It was fine, but for it to get that cheesecake consistency we put the leftovers in the fridge and overnight it became perfect. Great recipe, you don't need to follow the ingredients to a T, but the water bath and the time is important to get right.

Coffee Mug Cake
Did this one. I made it with chocolate but for some reason (though it could pretty well) was a little bit more on the rubbery side. Oh well. I will try this again since I often get random cravings for cake.

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers
This is a very easy recipe to follow and comes out similar to a souffle. However, I didn't use all bittersweet chocolate. I put in 1 cup of bittersweet chocolate chips but when that didn't seem to be chocolaty enough I added in 1/4 cup sweet ground chocolate. It still seemed to be a bit dull, but I didn't want to change the recipe anymore. It came out nicely, but the taste was quite dull and I could strongly taste the egg. I'm hoping next time I feel like eating chocolate this recipe will come out better~
