Creamy Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2014
This is a fantastic base recipe. I followed the other users suggestions regarding the changes in measurements and addition of lemon peel and cinnamon, but I also made it GLUTEN FREE. I seriously think this could be the best dessert I have ever baked! My non-GF family was raving about its goodness! I used Bob's Red Mill GF pie crust mix, subbed the flour in the filling with white rice flour and subbed the flour in the topping with almond flour. The nuttiness of the topping was excellent. I would suggest cutting back on the butter if you use almond flour because there is already fat from the nuts.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
Fantastic and easy recipe! I did add about a tablespoon of raw honey to the recipe which I think made it even better. I will be making this again and again! Thanks for sharing!

Pecan Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
The flavor as written was good but a little bland to me. After adding the pan juices from the Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken recipe on this site to the rice, it was incredible! I loved the nuttiness of the toasted pecans!

Kohlrabi Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
I had no idea what to do with the kohlrabi in my CSA box bit this recipe was DELICIOUS! Thank you for sharing! I will definitely be making this again even if I don't have kohlrabi and just use cabbage.

Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
I will admit that I was very skeptical of using what I consider "baking spices" on chicken, but based on the reviews I decided to take a chance. It was well worth it! I've made this twice now in the last month and will be making it again soon. The first time I substituted ginger for nutmeg and it was also awesome. My husband also loved it!

Roasted Swiss Chard with Feta

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
This recipe was excellent! Like others I was looking for a way to use my rainbow swiss chard from my CSA box. There were so many flavors for such simple ingredients! Next time I'll use more chard so the pieces on the edge don't dry out as much. I may also try using red peppers or carrots on the bottom later as well.

Roasted Beet and Kale Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
I made this exactly as written and massaged the dressing into the kale like others suggested. I did toss in some chèvre. I was not a believer in eating raw kale until I tried this salad. My husband also said he loved the flavor and texture better than "regular salad". Thanks for sharing!

White Velvet Cutouts

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
This is the best cutout recipe ever! I've had people ask me to sell my cookies after using this recipe. They hold their shape beautifully for making cutouts and unlike store-bought cutouts, they actually taste amazing!

Veronica's Hot Spinach, Artichoke and Chile Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
I make this dip for almost every party I host of get invited to and every time I get asked for my recipe! This is THE BEST spinach dip around! Better than any restaurant I've tried. Only thing I do differently is use a fresh, seeded jalapeño pepper. Try it with homemade artisan bread or Xochitl tortilla chips.

Butterscotch Oatmeal

I love this! I even make it with almond milk and it's just as good! A little too sweet so I scale back the sugar but it's awesome!

It was definitely good, but not the best I've had. I'm still looking for a WOW factor recipe.

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
This is the best butternut squash soup I've ever had! Restaurants can't even make it this good. I haven't used the coriander, and find I get better flavor with ground cinnamon than when I made it with a cinnamon stick. Using a blender was a disaster for me and I've since switched to an immersion blender. So much easier! I usually add a little more of everything than is called for and just go by taste. Enjoy!!

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
I can't believe I've waited so long to review this! I ditched the old condensed soup recipe years ago! This is now one of my all time favorite comfort food recipes. I do take some liberties with adding more vegetables, mixing some of the cheese inside and putting some on top as well as using gluten free brown rice pasta. Play around with it and make it your own. It's a fantastic base to build on.
