Kraft's Seven Layer Salad

Great Salad, teens love it. I did change it a bit.I sprinkled the 1st layer with sugar, added a layer of sliced hard boil eggs ( 6 eggs adds a little protein!), standing some of the slices on their edge next to bowl.It looks nice, skipped the celery and green peppers, but added 1 1/2 cups of Jarlsburg cheese over the thawed and drained peas and bacon then sealed with the salad dressing. I always use Miricle Whip. I decorated the top with cheese and shallots

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

What a wonderful addition to my Favourites! I used a large block of milk chocolate ( not cooking chocolate) and melted it for about 30 secs., stirred and then checked every few seconds until it was completely melted. I poured about a teaspoon into the top of aprox. 10 muffin paper cups and tilted the cup around until the cup was evenly covered. I then 'piped' the peanutbutter mixture into the cooled chocolate cups and then covered with the remaining chocolate and put in freezer for about half an hour. They were a big hit with everyone who tasted them!

Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND®

This has always been a favorite of mine since I was young. When I left the States in 1974 and settled in Australia my biggest problem was that I couldn't get graham crackers, so I substituted a "Coffee" biscuit. This worked fine. The only other change I make is to pour the condensed milk over all the layers just before I put it in the oven. This seems to bind everything together and the top then turns a lovely golden brown when cooked. This is always a hit at any gathering.

Vegetable Chowder

At last a recipe that 'disguises' the veggies. I have a 16 year old who will only eat 3 vegetables, so when I came across this recipe I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! I made it just 'as is' EXCEPT I add more milk to thin it out and give the 'kid' a little more nutrients. After cooking it for the 2 minutes, I just added more milk until I was satisfied with the consistency. I also added all the cheese. The 'kid' needs every nutrient I can get into him. It worked! I had half a pot of the soup in the fridge and between him and a friend they had it for a late supper AND for breakfast! I had to make another batch (this time I doubled it, just to be safe) My oldest son said he liked the soup even before I added the milk mixture and cheese and my husband had 2 large bowls. Everyone loves it. So..... this one is definitely a 'KEEPER'. I hate to chop veggies but this recipe was well worth the effort and the second time I made it the chopping didn't seem so bad. Thanks for a great and easy recipe !
