Chicken with Red Grapes And Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2006
Pretty good, though it didn't thicken as quickly as the recipe said it would - so plan accordingly. My borhter enjoyed the purple hue and I sliced the grapes in half. Quite a tasty sauce. Served over brown rice with steamed carrots.

Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
Very good. I used two sausage links we had but I do not knwo what variety (maybe garlic?) and I reduced the water to 6 cups like on of the reviews suggested and only added 1/2 teaspoon salt per another review. Pretty good, but I might use mroe sausage next time, just becuase it was so good when drenched in all the soup flavorings. Fairly inexpensive meal, especially if you use less sausage.

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
This was really delicious. I omitted the curry and zucchini because I didn't have them. I used dry beans and a home canned quart of tomatoes and did it in a slow cooker on high for 4 hours.

Tomato Barley Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2006
Excellent - hearty and easy! I did not follow the recipes exactly but I felt the changes were not significant and I loved this soup. I substituted a 14 oz. can of beef broth for the chicken both because that's what I had on hand. I also did not use canned garbanzos - I cooked them from dry and used that (if you have the time, I definitely recommend). I used 1/3 cup barley and felt I could have gone up to 1/2 cup easily. I sauteed my veges in Pam and omitted zucchini because I didn't have it one hand.

Awesome. We used two lemons instead of one. Moist, tender and easy. We cooked it hotter for two hours.

Pasta with Hot Sausage Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2006
Pretty easy and got good reviews from my DH. Too spicy for my two year old. I didn't have capers so omitted them. I also did not use spicy sausage but a milder one. Did not serve with ziti - but still tasted good.

Tangy Broccoli

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
This was ok - though I am not sure how you are supposed to get the Velveeta to melt smoothly without crisping, etc. Will not make again.

Chicken Curry III

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
I was a little short on the curry, but even still it seemed a little bland. It was easy to make and smelled nice while making it though.

Karen's Baked Banana Stuffed French Toast

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
I used a cookie sheet for baking them. I found that this was not enough egg mixture but maybe my bread was bigger than expected. Overall, good food. My husband really liked it, even saying it was necessary to put anything on it.

This was great! I used vege buillion on hand so I used that instead of beef buillion. After cooking I threw them on the BBQ for a few minutes. They were a hit!

Apple, Cranberry, and Pear Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2005
Awesome! I used red delicious apples and bartlett pears but basically stuck to the recie. I used almonds in lieu of walnuts becuase it is what I had on hand. My husband suggested I peel the apples next time, but this was great! Definitely a keeper.

Oregano Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2005
I cut this recipe in half and used a 9x( pan - but otherwise followed it to the letter. I served it with rice and a onion/bell pepper mix and it was awesome. Definitely keep the sauce to put on the rice. Delish!! And easy, too. I made the sauce and poured it on the chicken and put the whole thing in the fridge for a few hours so that all I had to do was pop it in the oven half hour before dinner.

Chicken Delight

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2005
ok - but not enough sauce. the 9x13 pan is too big (see other reviews) and luckily we did not add all the cracker crumbs (again due to other reviews). The flavor was good, but, I am not sure I'd make it again.

good. will definitely make again. i prefer chocilate chip cookies with more substance than the ones on the back of the bag - and these have it without adding oatmeal or anything.
