About this Cook
I'm a mom to one beautiful son with another on the way. I'm married to a wonderful man and Marine. I'm also a college student. I live for my family's health, well being and happiness.
My favorite things to cook
I cook a lot of quick recipes, but I do like to take my time dicing, mincing and chopping ingredients. My family and I like spicy, sweet, savory foods, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Having everyone participate in a small way, from licking the spoons to mixing ingredients. Family time in the kitchen is a great way for children to learn and create bonds.
My cooking triumphs
Today was the first time I've ever used a crock pot or dry beans! It turned out perfectly!
My cooking tragedies
I was creating a casserole when I substituted instant potatoes for real mashed potatoes, it was a disaster. The casserole was soupy.

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake
Not terrible but I won't make it again. I used 2 TBS of butter like others suggested. I also added pokska kielbasa and bacon. The best part was the kielbasa and bacon. There was entirely too much ranch, I didn't use as much as the recipe called for either. More spices would have been better.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV
I was expecting so much more. They were bland and not sweet. Definitely add frosting to these. I won't be making these again.

Fresh Strawberry Sauce
Delicious! I added a little more cornstarch to thicken the sauce more. I didn't have balsamic vinegar so I used Arbor Mist's Strawberry Mango wine... To die for! I baked a white cake, used homemade whip cream and drizzled over that! Mmm!
