Roasted Rack of Lamb

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
This was a GREAT recipe! Much better than the Lamb Stew we tried before from allrecipes.com. We didn't have dijon mustard so we used regular mustard and the lamb came out great. I also followed everyone else's review and used less salt. We cooked the lamb for 12 minutes in the oven. Would definitely be using this recipe again! Also, I would like to add that there was about half the of the bread crumb mix left over. Not a big deal, since we'll probably use it for something else.

Potato and Cheese Frittata

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
Yummy! What a great way to use our cast iron skillet! This was my first time making frittata and I'm glad I picked the perfect recipe! Everyone in our family loved it! Their only critiques were, too much potato and that it needs more egg and meat. I'll definitely try making it with sausage next time. We'll be making this potato and cheese frittata again!

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2012
Great recipe! Followed the directions exactly... only substituted the ginger for garlic because I didn't have any ginger. :P The pork chops came out great and super moist. Would cook again!

Cajun Crawfish and Shrimp Etouffe

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
My boyfriend seems to really like this recipe, but I think it's just okay. For the effort it takes to make it, I expected something more. The shrimp etouffe is yummy, but making the roux takes a bit of time. This dish goes great with rice because of the roux. We've made if a few times and have always used just shrimp.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Great recipe. I added corn to this as well and it came out pretty good. I couldn't find cornmeal so I just substituted it with a box of Jiffy Corn Mix

Quick and easy to make. I don't see any reason for buying canned cranberry sauce anymore. It came out great!

Ground Pork Omelet

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
Great Recipe! We've been using a recipe very similiar to this in my family for years. And we'll be using it for many more years to come. Thank you for sharing! If you like, you can also top it with cilantro as a garnish.. and eat it with the Siracha sauce.

Quinoa Stuffed Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
This recipe was very easy to follow. I'm a big fan of quinoa and was looking for different ways to add it to my meal. We made the pork tenderloin as close to the recipe as we could get it to be. The only difference is we added prunes instead of raisins and pecans instead of pine nuts since we didn't have any of both at home. We also did what another reviewer did and substituted the garam masala with nutmeg. And we smeared a little bit of apple butter on the outside of the pork tenderloin after we wrapped it. We tried the quinoa stuffing mix before adding it to the pork tenderloin and felt it needed some salt, so we added a little into it as well. Overall, the pork tenderloin came out wonderful and moist. We will definitely be using this recipe again!

Nong's Khao Man Gai

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
This doesn't taste like the Khao Man Gai you'd buy from the restaurant. And, the rice that comes out of this recipe isn't really oily. The name "Khao Man Gai" translates to Rice from Chicken Fat. Also, when cooking the rice if you're chopping the garlic, look at the video to see how they should be chopped. They're chopped in big slivers vs. chopped pieces. When I cooked the rice, we used 3 cups of broth vs. 2 cups of broth and it came out good. Not too wet or dry. The food came out good, but I'd stick to buying this instead.

The pancakes came out alright, but I felt it was a little too salty. Would make this again with less salt.

Eggplant and Lamb Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
We followed the directions of the recipe exactly with no modifications. There seemed to be too much veggies (eggplant, onions, tomatoes, etc) compared to how much lamb was in the dish. The vegetables were also a bit bland. We added more salt and other spices to add some kick and it still didn't help the dish by much. I liked the lamb in the dish, and would have liked more.

Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
This is a pretty basic dish, and it was easy to make. Instead of cornflake cereal crumbs, we used Italian Bread Crumbs because it was the only thing we had in stock. The bread crumbs didn't really mix well with the potatoes, it just sat on top of it like sand. Also, if I were to make this dish again, I would probably add more cheese.
