Fusion Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
This was really pretty boring. After all the positive reviews I was hoping for something unusual. It's edible, but I won't be making it again.

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2006
I used the bacon ranch dressing that someone suggested, doubled the tomatoes, and added fresh basil. I think reducing the amount of pasta by half and adding shredded lettuce would be great next time.

Grilled Shrimp Rice Noodle Bowl

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
I made this according to the recipe except I added quite a few more shrimp. The sauce was very good - tasted just like Thai Spring rolls. My noodles were very overdone, though, which ruined the rest of it. The noodle package said to soak them in hot (not boiling) water. I then cooked them as the recipe said. I assume I was supposed to only do one or the other. I will make this again but not cook the noodles.

Cheeseburger and Fries Casserole

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
Pretty boring and way too salty. I don't think I'll bother with this again.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2006
These were absolutely delicious and so easy! I used corn tortillas heated in foil in the oven and used low fat mayo and sour cream for the coleslaw. I also added cilantro and avocado to the tacos. We had black beans and fresh mango as side dishes and the flavors went very well together.

I made this with light ranch dressing. We thought it was a nice change. I'll make it again.

Irish Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
I used reviewer KC's suggestion and just sprayed the rolls with PAM and baked them at 400° for 18 minutes. They turned out PERFECTLY! These were very easy to make and I will definitely make them again this way - so much healthier than frying.

Cod Curry

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
This was OK. I was expecting a more "curry" flavor and, though it had a lot of flavor, it wasn't curry. It ends up looking sort of like salsa. It was a nice change and easy to make.

Fish Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
This was very good as well as healthy and filling. I used chopped carrot in place of the celery, added clams and a little extra clam juice. I also topped it with crumbled bacon and parsley. With a good roll it made a nice meal.

Island Chicken with Fruit Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
Other than using fresh pineapple and canned juice, and I used canned diced chilies, I followed the recipe and proportions. It tasted OK, just didn't have a lot of flavor. This surprised me because it had so many highly flavored ingredients. I probably will not make this again.

Morning Glory Muffins I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2005
These muffins were delicious! They came out perfect and I liked the recipe because they weren't at all greasy (but not at all dry, either)like some recipes for Morning Glory Muffins tend to be.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2005
This was excellent! It is quite spicy but there were no complaints. I had hot sauce on the table and it was never touched. The recipe served 7 people with just enough left over for my lunch the next day.

Best Hot Crab Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2005
This was delicious! I used artificial crab and just pulsed it in the food processor for a few moments and it worked just great. This makes a lot.

Beef with Green Onion

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2005
I made this tonight only used beef tenderloin instead of the flank steak so I cooked it for only a few minutes. This recipe is absolutely delicious! The flavor is great even though there are only a few ingredients. You won't be dissapointed in this.

Santa's Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
Because of what others had to say about the strength of the peppermint, I started with 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint oil and even that was VERY strong. Is peppermint oil different from peppermint extract? It completely covered up the rest of the flavors. The cake was very pretty, but I'm would only make it again if I used a few DROPS of peppermint.

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2004
This was good but not great. For all the ingredients I expected something better. I did use no-fat half and half and no fat yogurt, which probably made a big difference. If I make it again I will use the standard products. I also was not sure about the ginger garlic paste. I looked everywhere and could not find it so used extra garlic and extra ginger.

False Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2004
I made this tonight using the 1/2 soup, 1/2 diced tomatoes. I added 1/4t dried basil, 1t sugar and some worchestershire sauce. I also added cooked rice to it at the end, as it was quite thin. It was still a bit bland, but I will make it again as it's hearty and healthy. We drizzled light sour cream on at the table and it seemed more like how we've been served this type of dish in restaurants.

Pecan French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2004
This recipe was delicious and very easy! I sliced the bread a little thicker using the full 1# loaf which exactly fit into a 9" x 13" pan to soak it overnight and it worked fine. The only thing I left out was most of the orange zest.

Almond Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2004
Excellent recipe in general but next time I will reduce the amount of rice as others suggested and the amount of cornflakes and butter was WAY too much. Half the amount of each would be about right. I have also made this with turkey and used mushrooms instead of celery and it was very good.

Scalloped Potatoes and Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2004
I used red potatoes and cooked them a bit in the microwave before assembling the recipe as recommended by others. The potato part of this was really delicious but the pork chops were a bit blah.
