I've been cooking since I was a kid. It started by helping Mom with cookies. 25 years later, and after college, Ramen noodles, creative mac and cheese munchie creations... I married a vegetarian that didn't cook. A red-blooded Kansas male can only live on asparagus and raw cabbage for so long.... Thankfully, she converted to the carnivorous side. Both of us like Italian, Mexican/Southwest, and BBQ. There is plenty to experiment with. I am the more adventurous in the kitchen, and she’s the only one that eats tofu.
My favorite things to cook
I like to smoke and grill, just don't usually have time. I also make a pretty mean calzone and pretty good chili.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pot roast with mashed potatos and gravy. Biscuts or hashbrowns and gravy. I like gravy..... I can also put away a stupid amount of Mom's chocholate chip cookies......
My cooking triumphs
I stuffed a pork loin and smoked it. The calzones mentioned above are really good. Some time ago, I was one of the few if not only people that took a turkey frier full of chili to Arrowhead Stadium.
My cooking tragedies
I wouldn't say anything has been tragic. I do however, have a complete inability, even with a recepie, to make anything the same way twice.
