Millet Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2007
These Muffins were very good. I did do a few things differently. I did not have whole wheat flour on hand, but I did have whole spelt. So I used that. I also used regular milk since I didn't have buttermilk on hand. I bought some buttermilk yesterday and I am eager to try it with buttermilk. Thanks for the great recipe!

Bourbon Pecan Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
This was very good. I tripled the sauce recipe as others said and it turned out perfect. I'm not a liquor person so I only uses 6 Tbls of bourbon and it was plenty for me. I served this to my Grandparents in law and they really enjoyed it.

White Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
I really love this recipe. It has a nice flavor and is a nice white color. I would make sure to beat the butter, shorting, and sugar quite well before adding the milk/flour mix. This makes it a lot smoother and fluffier. I also added a 1/3 cup more sugar for a sweeter edge. I like that it is not to sweet. My family does not like sweet frostings so this was great!

Chocolate Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
I thought this recipe was awesome. It did not come out of the pan great, but it didn't break up. I used only 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of butter with 1/2 cup of applesauce to cut down on fat. I might try more applesauce next time. I didn't have any coffee granules on hand, but I did have instant english toffee cappuccino. It turned out nice with a somewhat subtle toffee taste. Thanks!

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
These were very good. I did use vanilla yogurt instead sour cream since I didn't have any sour cream. Turned out great. I also used cinnamon chips (like chicolate chips but cinnamon) and they turned out great! I did notice a metalicy after taste. I might reduce the Baking powder next time. Thanks!

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
These were excellent. I used 1/4 C Maple syrup instead of white sugar. I put 1/2 C of chopped bacon and 1/4 C of shredded cheddar cheese. I added another teaspoon of baking powder because I used Spelt flour instead of white flour. I would make these again. They were very tasty.

Mushroom Burger Cups

These were really good. I used a regular size muffin pan. It still turned out very good. It hit the spot. Very easy dinner and my 1 year old loved it. I used bell peppers instead of onions because I did not have any onions and it was delicious!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
Very good. I used homemade canned tomatoes. Very good flavor through out. I spread the beans on the tortillas as other reviewers suggested. Worked out great. I think next time I would put a couple more tortillas down at a time. Still turned out great!

Steak 'N' Onion Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
This was pretty good. I used peppers instead of potatoes though. It just seemed like starch over kill. I sauteed the meat, onions and peppers all together and then added the broth. I only let it simmer until it was thick instead of 45 minutes. Again I thought it was over kill. I also used a pie crust under and over it. It turned out great. A little bland. I would use more spices next time.
