Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
I subbed the mascarpone with 8 oz. cream cheese, 1/4 c. cream (which is what you have leftover from a pint in this recipe-so you'll use it all if you buy that size), and 2 T sour cream. Also subbed the liqueor w/ 1/3 rum as mentioned in here someplace. AWESOME RECIPE. 1 more thing for my friends to ask me to make for their birthday parties. Ha!

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
WOW these went quick! I followed some user comments and cut the bacon into 4ths. I let them rest in the fridge for an hour or so and cooked them as directed, flipping them halfway through. I'll knock 5 minutes off the cook time next time I make these. Yummy! A keeper.

Chinese Cookies

Just like the ones at the store. The dough is a bit crumbly though, so be careful. A small price to pay for a cookie like this!

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
Just right, like the sauce you get in a gyro shop. Putting this one in the recipe box.

Mocha Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
OK, admittedly I had to mess with this recipe to accomodate what I had laying around. Some of the chocolate I used was dark, so I cut the sugar by 1/4 cup. I don't keep liquor in the house so I used 1 1/2 t. water and tacked on another 1/2 t. vanilla instead of using the rum. BUT this is the first time I made it and MMMMM is it good! This is what chocolate cake is SUPPOSED to taste like!

Beef Nacho Casserole

Yum! The leftovers were gone before I could even think to eat them! I added an onion while I cooked the meat. This one's a keeper.

Caramel Apple Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2005
Between my father and my husband, 3/4 of the pie was gone within 1 1/2 hours. Mmmm! I just had to fight my husband to split the last piece.

Corn Dog Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
Wow! We tried this as a joke and it's going into the recipe box. We used real hotdogs. Just make sure you don't overmix the cornbread and watch your time when you're baking it.

Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
I don't know what I did to this recipe but the chocolate seized up on me, the mousse was flat as a pancake, and I couldn't even finish it.

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2005
This was the first time I tried to make bread and it came out pretty good! I even screwed it up and it still came out tasty and nice-looking. A "keeper" recipe.

WOWSERS!! I have pitched my old chocolate chip cookie recipe and am keeping this one! I did 1/2 a batch, and used 12 oz. dark chocolate chips and 6 oz. milk chocolate chips. Absolutely killer cookies!

Mini Italian Meatballs

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
Good 'all purpose' meatball, great for when you're in a hurry. I just made the meatballs and skipped the sauce, baked them at 350 F for 25 minutes. Also I just shaved down and crushed 2 buillion cubes to cut down the salt a bit. Will make it again.

Canadian Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2003
These cookies are pretty good, but for best results let them sit for at least 1 hour before you serve them. Right out of the oven they don't taste so hot. DEFINATLY go get some parchment paper to put on your cookie sheets, 'cos these are sticky.

Sourdough Starter

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2005
I didn't let it ferment as long as it should have, but it still did a nice job. I'll keep this recipe, it's easier than I thought it would be.

Peanut Butter Bars IV

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2007
My friend wanted my peanut butter bars for her birthday next week, but *gasp!* I lost the recipe! So I gave these ones a shot, and they're close. Moist w/o being greasy (like my old recipe) and they look nice too! I skipped the chocolate chips and they taste just fine to me. My friend will never know the difference!
