Artichoke and Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2003
Great recipe! Very tasty. I did modify the recipe a bit, however. I added garlic, salt and pepper as well as crumbled feta cheese. The vegetables I doubled and put the extra veggies on top of the breasts with the marinara sauce. We gobbled them up! Thanks for sharing!

These are absolutely fabulous! I have made them time and time again and I always get compliments on them. They hold up well in a chafing dish and are the perfect bite size appetizer. Thanks!

Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2003
Really good recipe but I did make a few changes. I was pressed for time so I used frozen veggies (peas, carrots and green beans mix) along with the fresh potatoes, onion and celery. Also substituted chicken broth for more flavor. It turned out perfectly. Definitely a keeper!

Sarah's Banana Bread Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2004
These muffins were easy to make and very moist, however, I'm giving them a 4 because I kept thinking that they were "missing" something in the taste! Next time I will take other reviewers advice and add coconut and/or cinnamon for more flavor to the batter.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2004
This was okay. It didn't blow me away with flavor. It tasted like "another box mix" and I was hoping for more. I probably won't make it again.

Bev's Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2004
This is a very good chocolate pie. Very rich tasting. I served it at a dinner party and got rave reviews. However, I changed the meringue recipe to one which calls for cream of tarter in the recipe. NOTE: Make sure you cook the "custard" long enough or this will just turn out as a runny mess.

Cherry Dessert

Reviewed: May 26, 2005
very good recipe. To save on time, I used 1 carton of nondairy whipped topping for the heavy cream and folded that into the cream cheese. I cut back on the sugar (since the whipped topping is sweet, and I used 1/2 cup of margarine. Excellent!

Thai Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
This recipe was okay. I probably would not make it again. 8 cloves of garlic was waaaay too much. I would cut back to 4. I also added bell pepper and carrots to the onion and omitted the peanut butter (just cuz we're not fans). Also reduced the soy to 1/3 cup. Good start of a recipe, just didn't knock my socks off. Served veggies and chicken over jasmine rice.

Simple Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
this was a great start on a basic recipe. I made some changes to add a bit more flavor. First I browned my cubed sirloin. Next I sauteed onion and garlic then added mushrooms. I deglazed the pan with a little red wine. I added beef broth and cream of mushroom soup. This really kicked up this recipe to make it 5 starts instead of 4.

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

This soup was very good. I, like others, added additional seasonings and I also threw in some worchesshire sauce to give the broth a little depth. Delicious!

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
This recipe was delicious. I took it to a Holiday Dinner Party (I was in charge the vegetable) and received rave reviews. I sauted the onion and celery with two cloves of garlic (since other reviewers said this recipe tasted a little bland). Added S&P then followed the recipe completely and this dish turned out perfectly. It makes a huge amount but there were no leftovers. I didn't think it was time consuming at all. Just take your time and keep stirring the cheese (I used velveeta) until it melts. You will be pleased.

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
4 stars b/c I had to tweek this recipe a bit b/c I thought it tasted bland. I added 1/4 c green onion, 1/4 c. brown sugar, dijon mustard, 1/4 c.bourbon, garlic powder, black pepper. I also rubbed my steak with cracked pepper, a few red pepper flakes, a bit of cumin and paprika. Put it in the crock pot and let it cook all day. Boy was it good!!! Sooo tender and juicy. We used it for our fajitas.

Easy Pizza Sauce I

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
Waaaay too runny!!! Wish I had read the reviews. Cut back on the water or maybe eliminate it altogether?? Next time I might even consider using 2 cans of tomato paste or adding a little cornstarch to the mixture to thicken it up a bit.

This was so fast and easy. The only thing I changed was sauting fresh onion and garlic (instead of garlic pwdr). Oh! And b/c another reviewer said it was a little dry I reserved a 1/4 cup of the broth and added it in which helps a lot!!! This is a keeper!

Chinese Broccoli Slaw

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
okay I always have to tweek a recipe a bit b/c that's just how I am.. She said to reserve the seasoning pkt. but nowhere did it say to add it in??? I didn't want it to go to waste, so in the dressing (which was VERY bland) how could it not be with only acv/sugar/oil/soy being its only ingredients?? I added the packet. WOW! It totally kicked this recipe up a notch. Also added one more tbsp of soy and s&p. Other than that, this is very good.

The frozen fruit got a bit juicy (after it thawed out) so I added 1 TBSP of cornstarch to thicken it up. Also added 1 tbsp. of fresh lemon juice to brighten up the fruit flavor. Delicious!
