Southern Butter Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
They were good. I quartered the recipe since I was just cooking for my small family and forgot that I should prolly watch the cooking time a little more closely so mine ended up a little over done. I also proofed my yeast with the sugar and warm water before adding it to the remaining ingredients which cuts down on the kneading time... cuz we all know how we would love to extend the time we knead... lol well anyways the flavors were there and I will most likely use this recipe in the future!

Groovy Green Smoothie

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
This recipe is so good my picky 2 years old LOVES IT! We make it every other day and call them Monster Smoothies! I sub Skim milk for the yogurt and it is a little less creamy but I feel it tastes a little better! I also leave the skin on the apple (we use granny smith) cuz that's where all the nutrients are so we just run it through the blender an extra time to get the skin all chopped up and than pour it through a strainer to get the last few bits that won't break down. Very yummy!

Banana Berry Smoothie II

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
I use Skim milk, replace the yogurt with a splash of OJ (cuz I think milk and than yogurt is a little redundant), use about half a pint of strawberries and it turns out much better. If you follow the recipe you can barely taste the strawberries witch makes me sad face. tear.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
I make the 3 loaves every other week (freezing 2 the dough loaves to bake later.) I found them a little to honey flavored for my family so instead of adding the second 1/3 cup of honey I add a table spoon of sugar. That works out well for me and my boys! But over all great recipe, great flavors and I will keep making it!

Bodacious Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
If I could give this 10 stars I would! When I was pregnant I literally lived off of this salad and grapes... I actually add less vinegar (usually just a splash) cuz my taste bud like it better that way, but other than that I don't change a thing! It is beautiful!

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
So I had an abundance of ground beef this past spring and was trying to figure out what to do with it and sloppy joe's came to mind. I asked my hubby what he thought and he was appalled. So I made em anyways (cuz that's how I roll.) Him complaining the whole time saying that he wasn't going to try them and blah blah blah. Well Itricked him into trying one and well lets just say his opinion changed real fast! Now he requests them all the time! MEN!

Jagerschnitzel

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
So I had some Pork Steaks and was wanting some yummy non-American food. And I stumbled on this little nugget. Seriously, my world changed. I would compare it to southern chicken fried steak with the country gravy but about a MILLION times better! It is sweet and savory and SO filling! Obviously, I'm in love!

Kale Orange Banana Smoothie

I feel like if I was a bigger health nut this would have been more delicious, however found it very hard to get the few sips I had down. I may try it again with some vanilla yogurt or some almond milk.

Hailey's Smoothie

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2012
Wow-zers! This was fantastic! I used almond milk instead of yogurt and almond extract (2 bird one stone) and opted out on the honey (fruit is already sweet!) The second time I made this I added strawberries and it was good but I feel the recipe didn't need it.

Herb Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2012
I made this bread without a bread machine. Some tips, proof your yeast (warm water, sugar and yeast get mixed together and let set for about 5 mins.) Mix everything else together while you are waiting, reserving some of the all-purpose flour for kneading (about a 1/4 cup). Than pour the proofed yeast in with the dry ingredients and mix. Knead for about 10 mins. Continue recipe as directed. This bread is amazing. I used all fresh herbs grinding them in my coffee grinder and I added fresh garlic! This bread is going to have so many savory uses in my kitchen! Very versatile for a herbed bread!

Vegetarian Four Cheese Lasagna

This is an excellent vegetarian lasagna recipe! I used a butternut squash in place of a pumpkin, since pumpkin was out of season. Next time I am going to add mushrooms and spinach as well!

Barley Black Bean Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
I thought this was an awesome recipe! I added jalapenos to spice things up a little bit and enjoyed mine with some local BBQ sauce. I read others were having problems with the burgers falling apart so I baked the burgers at 350 until cooked through and than threw them into the fridge until I wanted to heat them up again on the grill!
