Champagne with Strawberries

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
This is delish. I made it in a punch bowl and added gingerale and substituted frozen strawberries for fresh. I used a carton of rainbow sherbet in scoops (any flavor will work), a full bottle of gingerale and a full bottle of sparkling wine, and a bag of frozen strawberries. You could add non-alcoholic bubbly if there are kids present, or leave it out since the soda is fizzy. I could not believe how fast this punch went!!

Raisin Farfel Kugel

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
I served this with dinner for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and it was a hit both times. I used golden raisins and the first time I soaked them in water as the farfel was soaking in the water and then egg, and the next time I soaked the raisins in sweet wine. It made them plumper. Definitely don't lose heart when your mixture is liquidy. It firms up quite nicely once baked! Next time I am adding chopped apple.

Topsy-Turvy Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2003
This recipe turned out great. The apple mixture wasn't overly sweet, so it went really well with the candied pecans. If you aren't worried about presentation, you can use crumbled pecans (like I did because I had to shell them) and it tastes just as yummy!
