Banana Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
I was looking for a recipe so I could try out my new bundt cake pan and I thought this one looked good. It is excellent. My husband, my coworkers, and I all loved it. I did not alter the recipe in any way - it is perfect as is. Another thing to note is that this makes a very pretty cake. After drizzling with the icing and topping off with the nuts I put this bundt cake on my cake stand and it looked great.

Overnight Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2003
I love this coffee cake! It is smaller than most so it is excellent for a couple/small family for a weekend. I loved making it the night before and getting the kitchen all clean so that there was no mess in the morning. I love the texture of the cake (buttermilk is excellent!) and the delicious cinnamon flavor. I highly recommend this recipe and plan on making it again and again.

Penne a la Vodka II

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
I made this for book club and it was a big hit. I found that I did not need as much cream as listed - in fact I used half and it almost looked like too much. I also sprinked in a touch of cayenne pepper which gave it a nice kick. I used canned, diced tomatos and blended half of them in the blender and left they others diced to make a little variation in the sauce. This is the kind of recipe that is quick and easy and makes your kitchen smell delicious!

Baked Brie in Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
This was tasty - I used raspberry jam as well as almonds. I found that it could have used more baking time. The puff pastry was a little doughy. Next time I will watch and make sure it gets crispy and golden brown.

Handsome Party Punch

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2006
Wish I could post a picture - this punch was so pretty. I made it because the ingredients sounded good and because of its name. Everyone at my sister's baby shower loved this punch. I am looking forward to making it again.

Baked Pears

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
This is delicious and so easy. I recommend using bosc pears and brown sugar. I did not put the marmalade in because I did not have any.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
I made it just as directed, and it was fantastic! It is really cool that the blueberries do not sink to the bottom. This recipe comes together rather quickly. I did use the mini Cusinart to make the topping, and that worked perfectly! I will certainly make this again.

Lentil Soup with Lemon

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Loved this soup - the lemon juice made it really special. I wanted to add some potatoes next time I make it, so that it would be a little more filling, but my husband doesn't want it changed at all - he said it is perfect as is. Next time I will make it just like this again!

Carrot Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2012
Yum - I loved this.. and so did my husband and 1 1/2 year old! I made it just as written, but I lightly cooked the garlic first to make it a little more subtle. I would definitely make this again. I might even grate some other veggies into it if I have them around. But it is delicious just with carrots!

Lemon Madeleines

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2013
I made this recipe exactly the way it says to make it. They turned out perfect! I made them for a tea party with a friend and she thought they were great too. I would say the recipe actually makes more like 14 madeleines, rather than 12. Also, they are best on the first day, but still delicious after two days. I would recommend sprinkling additional confectioner's sugar on them because after the first day, they seem to absorb the confectioner's sugar.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2014
These muffins are delicious. I made them exactly as is, except I used oil instead of butter because we were snowbound and I did not want to use up all my butter. I was tempted to do what other people did - add brown sugar, more cinnamon, some vanilla, etc, but then I thought I would just try it the way it was intended. Good news is - it's fabulous just the way it is. There is really no need to alter it. It made 11 muffins for me. I will definitely make them again.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2014
These were so good! I followed other people's advice and I made sure that I did not over mix or over bake them. I also added 1 Tablespoon of half and half and 1 Tablespoon of corn syrup to the frosting as per the advice of one review. All I can say is that the brownies were perfect - rich, great texture, not cake-like at all. The frosting was an added bonus. My husband and I downed them in one day. They are dangerous to have in the house! Another great thing about them - you can whip them up very quickly and you generally have all the ingredients on hand!

Banoffee

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2014
I would have given this more stars if the crust recipe had been legitimate. As it is, the crust recipe ends up being a bunch of graham cracker crumbs floating around in a pool of melted butter. Just make a normal graham cracker crust recipe and add in some ginger. I would half the ginger next time I make this. Next time I make this I will also add one extra banana. It is delicious - I love the flavors of the dulce de leche, ginger, bananas and graham crackers.

Cherry Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2014
This is tasty and we are enjoying it. I think it could use more like 2 cups of cherries, and if I make it again that is what I will do.
