I was born to a mother who was a mad crazy cook. With my mother, everything had to be from scratch, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything for my family and friends. I used to cook professionally, and manage full-service restaurants, but now I cook strictly for the pleasure of pleasing my friends and family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas morning traditions, and baking up loads of cookies for neighbors. We have a tradition of putting on a great barbecue dinner in the summer featuring my apple and cherry smoked ribs and brisket, with all the trimmings.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest cooking truiumph would be feeding 65 people in my home and hearing nothing but great compliments on my food, and how tasty it was.
My cooking tragedies
Biggest tragedy would be cooking anything that I have had to re-constitute. One time, all the food we had in our house was some canned dehydrated pork chops.....eeeeewwwww!!!

Farfalle with Zucchini, Butternut Squash and Pecorino Cheese
We are not normally squash eaters. We ended up with some butternut squash from some family members and thought we would try it out. We have never cooked it before but we are adventurous. WE LOVE THIS RECIPE!! I have 5 kids and almost everyone had seconds! We did not even have to double the recipe for our family of 7; it was perfect. We did not have any farfalle pasta on hand, so we used Rotini instead. Everything else was as the recipe called, except I used extra garlic. I swear, if this recipe doesn't taste good to you it is because you didn't season it to your taste as it instructs you to do. Excellent recipe and we will use it again!

Chili Relleno Casserole
My family and I absolutely loved this recipe! We used fresh roasted green chilis in it and other than that followed the recipe exactly. It needed no additional seasoning what-so-ever. Unlike myself, my family does not like spicy food, but they ate the entire casserole! I will definitely be making this again!!!

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken
This recipie was delicious! It was tender and had such a wonderful flavor throughout the whole breast. I saved enough sauce to be able to dip the chicken in it on the plate, but found I didn't need it!
