World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
I don't eat meat, but my boyfriend and family do, so I'd never made a meat lasagna before. I went online and found this recipe, and wow'd everyone. I've given the recipe out several times since first making it. DEFINITELY do NOT use 1Tbsp of salt in the sauce. I'm a rookie, and even I thought twice about it, but followed recipe to a T the first time making it... that was my only complaint, and it was from my mom. Enjoy, absolutely worth making :)

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
They're terribly delicious! Which you really don't want them to be because they're so obviously awful for your health! Decadent, simple, boyfriend and kids are head over heels for, and they'll even make them themselves. A++

Cheesy Vegetable Soup II

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
Awesome! My mother-in-law said it was the best soup she ever had in her mouth! Thanks to allrecipes.com she thinks I'm amazing. Also handed out the recipe at work. If you're willing to use a LOT of extra cheese, you could easily omit the cheese soup and add a bit more flour, make a rue and add milk, once bubbling, add cheese. Never thought to put mushrooms in veggie soup before, but it makes an awesome flavour.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Meh. The sugar and butter liquid was too thick to pour through the apples. Sat on top and caramelized into a rock hard mess. I even rechecked that it only called for 1/4 cup of water. I'm really fussy with apple pies and considerably prefer the recipe my mom has. Oh well, worth the try.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Just made this for supper. It turned out quite well and was simple to assemble. I definitely recommend flipping through the pictures with the recipe, makes the "braiding" of the dough instructions much easier to understand when you see the dough laid out and cut up. Left out the dill and red pepper as per personal preference, and added a sprinkle of poultry seasoning, marjoram and thyme. Would probably make again when there are 4 to feed. I don't think it would reheat as well because of the crescent rolls. Nice and crispy from oven. Beautiful.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Pretty good, however I followed the instruction of fellow raters and boiled for 7 minutes and it wound up WAY too dry and crumbly, so if I make it again, I will be sticking to the 5 minutes in the recipe. I was incredibly disappointed that it didn't turn out purely because of the cost of a jar of fluff that I wasted. Having said that, I will give another try down the road.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
Just made this for supper tonight, used salt and pepper, paprika, thyme, garlic and onion powder and a bit of sage for the seasoning. Woke up late, so put it on high for 4.5-5 hrs, turned out like the rotisserie chickens you can buy at grocery store, or Swiss chalet chicken. Sooooo yummy and moist. I'll definitely be doing this again! Four of us ate and the chicken is just a pile of bones now :) Had potatoes and fresh beans, peas, kale, turnip and beets, what a feast!

Dash's Donair

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2012
I don't eat meat but made this for the family and they ate it up. We took it from the oven, let it cool a bit, sliced it fairly thin, then fried it to get it crispier. Will probably make it again.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
Followed this recipe and got a well done roast. Was looking for the medium rare pictured and was sorely disappointed! Couldn't open the oven to check internal temperature. Won't make it this way again.

Chris' Bay Area Burger

Made these for my honey, he was very doubtful about a hamburger without onions in them, but really enjoyed them. I have made them several times now and he has too!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
Was very impressed with how easy and tasty this turned out, and the soup makes the gravy done without any extra effort. An awesome idea for a day that you're too busy to be bothered with staying in the kitchen.

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
This was awesome! Moist and juicy chicken that's quick and easy to cook and prepare, and with a family that includes two hungry teens, tonnes of leftovers are NOT an issue. Made exactly as recipe because honey likes spicy and eats the skin, he almost thought it was too hot! Could make with any rub you'd like, like rosemary/thyme, or garlic, endless delicious opportunities.

Yum. Not something I made a second time, not for any specific reason. Just not spectacular enough.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2014
Really good recipe. Simple and tasty. I've never had a recipe for a small whole chicken and had it cook in the time stated. I needed an extra 45 minutes to get it to the proper internal temperature. It was juicy and delicious! Definite family pleaser.
