Garlic Chicken

Yummy and easy. I butterflied my chicken breasts and they were tender yet crispy, and it cut the cooking time down by 10 minutes. I added in some fresh grated parmesan, about 1/4 cup, since it adds a rich flavor and goes so well with the garlic. Thanks for the nice recipe I plan to make often.

Pecan Turtle Bars

Very easy but I would definitely cut down on the amount of butter used in the topping. Mine looked greasy and I actually dabbed them with a paper towel not too successfully though! Also, the pecan halves were basically covered up by the chocolate topping so next time I will just use chopped pecans. These were delicious and I will make them again for sure.

Cucumber Tomato Salad

Yes! This is the dish I remember my Mom making during the hot dog days of summers past. She used to make a huge batch and put it out family style in a bowl on top of crushed ice to keep it cold. Yum. Thanks for the joy you gave me finding this gem again.

Brownie Crackles

Thanks for this great quick & easy recipe. We loved these cookies, especially the next day. I'm making them again but plan to use mini-chips. The regular size chips seemed to produce too much melted chocolate inside the cookie so that it was almost mushy. We weren't sure at first if the brownie was not baked long enough. Once they were thoroughly cooled off the texture was much better. Delicious!

Lick Your Lips Cake

This was great!! I used a french vanilla cake mix and ran the oranges through my mini food processor before adding them. I thought I recognized the frosting recipe before then remembered that I've made it in the past as a fruit dip. It's great to use as dip for strawberries!

Chicken Diablo

Very tasty and spicy. I used the thin sliced chicken cutlets which I marinated in a ziplock for 24 hours. I then grilled them on my George Foreman. Served on sub rolls with lettuce & tomato. Very gourmet style sandwiches!

Spinach Pasta Salad

I mixed the pasta salad together and put it in the fridge to wait a few hours before adding the spinach, as another reviewer recommended. But my family started helping themselves before the spinach ever got added. They loved it. I had used Greek salad dressing instead of italian and added some chopped up sliced pepperoni. It was so yummy I may just keep this as my Greek Pasta Salad recipe and just forget about the spinach ingredient. Thanks.

Frogmore Stew

This meal was our Christmas Eve dinner this year since my picky family doesn't like the normal ham or pork roast. It was easy and delicious and so much fun. Be sure to get yourself a huge stockpot so you have enough room for all the ingredients. I used my big one but still ran out of room, and ended up steaming the shrimp separately. The Old Bay seasonings smelled so good. When all was complete I drained it all then dumped the whole works onto newspaper on top of my decorated-for-christmas dining room table! Then we just dug in from the pile! I served it with warm buttered crusty bread. Everyone wants to do it again next year, but I think we'll do it again before then too! Thanks

Hawaiian Spareribs

So good! The only change I made was substituting low sodium teriyaki for the soy sauce and cutting down just a bit on the vinegar. The sauce was so rich and thick, almost like a jam. The aroma was incredible. Definitely a keeper. Thanks!

Barbie Doll Cake

I was just checking the most recent reviews in the community forum and stumbled on the Barbie Doll Cake. I remember my Mom making this for me when I was little and how my friends and I oohed and aaahed! I had completely locked up that memory until I saw this! I'm going to write a little note in my Mom's Mother's Day Card letting her know how special it was. My youngest daughter is now 13 so I guess it's too late for me for bake it, but I'm saving the recipe for my granddaughter if I'm that lucky!

Snow Tunnel Cake

I had saved this recipe and picked up 2 angel food cakes at the supermarket when they had a buy one/get one free deal. I realize the recipe has you make your own cake but I went ahead with the store-bought. I had a hard time cutting off the top. The cake was real spongy. It wasn't too pretty when I was done, but I went ahead and followed the rest of the recipe. It was okay, nothing for company though. Maybe with chocolate mousse and real whipped cream it would be a little more upscale! I'll probably make this again for my kids. They liked it and it's not too unhealthy with the fat free ingredients I used. If anyone knows the best type of knife to use to attack an angel food cake please add it to your review. Thanks

Chocolate Scotcheroos

These were so good, so quick and so easy. I love no bakes! I used all rice krispie cereal. Instead of using all corn syrup, I did about 50/50 with honey. Also used about 50/50 Splenda with the white sugar. Then when I was stirring in the peanut butter I also stirred in about 2 Tbsp. of cocoa powder. I had only one bag of chocolate chips, they were actually the chocolate/caramel swirl type. I microwaved them and drizzled it back and forth on top of the bars. This recipe is not too different than the No-bake granola bars I make all the time, the only difference being there's no quick cook oatmeal in them. Definitely Yum Yum Yummy!

Savory Chicken Breasts

This is my "picky" child's all-time favorite chicken recipe and she requests it often. I probably make it at least 3 times a month! I follow the recipe exactly except use low sodium soup and lowfat cheese. It doesn't affect the taste. YUMMY! Thanks for a family favorite!

Apple Cake III

This was so yummy and easy. Many reviewers said to add two cans of apple pie filling but I only had one on hand, but I did add about 2/3 cup of cinnamon applesauce. It came out nice and moist, almost like a coffee cake. Next time I think I will chop up the apples in the pie filling so they aren't such large pieces. The topping was really good but I will be cutting down on the amount of brown sugar, it was a little much. The nuts didn't stick well either. I may put them right into the cake batter next time. This is a keeper. Thanks !

Scalloped Corn and Broccoli

Excellent. Very filling and rich casserole. Would be great at Thanksgiving. I used Splenda instead of sugar and only had frozen brocolli spears which I whirled for a few seconds in the food processor. Yummy.

Baklava

I have made this several times now. First at Christmastime, then twice again during the winter, and once just last week for my daughter's middle school Greek Fest. We all love this recipe so much that I volunteered to make it when the requests came home from the school for contributions to the Greek Fest. I had no idea the teacher would be sending home another recipe to use. This other recipe called for corn syrup and some other yucky ingredients, so I rebelled and used this recipe again. I wrote it down on a note to the teacher and listed the ingredients in case of any food allergies. She wrote back to say that it was so much better than hers and she was thrilled to receive the recipe, plus she would be returning my pan in a few days since she was taking home the rest to let her family have some! Thanks for submitting this, it is so awesome. By the way, I've used Splenda for the sugar and Pam for the butter and its just as good, and so much easier!

Cheesiest Potato Soup

Really really good! I wish I had run across this recipe in the Fall instead of the Spring because it's excellent stick-to-your-ribs cold weather food. I used half & half instead of heavy cream, and a large can of diced potatoes, and threw in extra cheese since I had to use up some Monterey Jack too. It was still plenty rich tasting and the kids liked it as well. I scooped about 1/2 the potatoes mixture out of the saucepan and put it in the blender for about 10 seconds. I left the other half unblended. It was a great texture that way. Plenty thick enough too. The recipe makes a lot. Thanks!

Quiche (Southern Egg Pie)

Very delicious! I used hot sausage, extra hot sauce, plus jalapeno jack cheese and served it for dinner. It had a nice kick to it and very good flavor. I will make this often. Thanks
