About this Cook
I love to cook and bake. I am very creative and love to create my own recipes. I also love finding a recipe and tweaking it for an extra kick!
My favorite things to cook
Hmnn...favorite thing to cook is squash. I have only made it once and fell in love instantly! I love to make homemade pumpkin, apple and sour cherry pies. I enjoy making pumpkin bread too! I also make homemade chocolate cake and funny cake. I make amazing cookies: chocolate chip, thumb prints, butter, nut tassies and more!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year around Thanksgiving I make homemade pumpkin, apple and in the past sour cherry pie. During Christmas and New Years my kitchen is busy...producing an abundance of delicious cookies and sweet treats.
My cooking triumphs
I make great omelets, dippy eggs, breakfast burritos. I also make wonderful wraps, quesadillas, tacos, Chinese food, pizza, squash, quiche. Many people enjoy my cookies, cakes, and pies!
My cooking tragedies
First time I made Alfredo sauce from scratch following a recipe from the internet, I added the "correct amount of pepper on the recipe." Note, learned the hard way that people mix up teaspoon and tablespoon easily!!! In this case he said tablespoons and should have been teaspoons. Let's say that Alfredo sauce cleaned out your sinuses and we have been thinning it out each time with a jar of store bought sauce to help with the extreme amount of pepper!!!

Baked Kale Chips
Really good! I used less salt and I also tried some with garlic powder. Yum! :) Definitely will make again!

Banana Muffins II
I used half white flour and half whole wheat flour, 4 bananas, and cut the sugar to a little less than 1/2 a cup. I used Extra Light Olive Oil (can be used for baking and tastes similar to butter with a nutty flavor). So I would need 4 tablespoons of the Olive Oil...well instead of 4 I used 3 and added 3 tablespoons of Flax seed which replaces a tablespoon of oil. I also didn't add salt. I did add 2 tsp of vanilla and 2 tsp cinnamon. These muffins came out soooo good. My house smelled of banana muffins!! Will definitely make again!!

Chocolate Sandwich Cookies I
I was really excited when I found this recipe! I have a friend who makes amazing Whoopie pies! It took me 5 hours to make these by scratch alone. Made 37 whoopie pies various sizes. Rounded teaspoons on the cookie sheet makes very small cookies. I used heaping teaspoons, and a rounded cereal spoon. I made 3 big cookies...almost 2 cereal spoons worth of batter. I managed to only eat one while making them! I am disappointed with the chocolate cookies. I thought they would be more moist and chocolately. They were on the dryer side and there wasn't enough chocolate flavor. :( The cream filling was AMAZING! Definitely will use the cream filling again! :) Overall this recipe is good.
