Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
I make this recipe often but with a few changes. To make the sauce go a bit further for my family of 6, I stir in 3 heaping tbsps of flour into the beef before adding the remainder of the ingredients into the crockpot. Then I add 1 1/2 cups of beef broth rather than 1/4 cup of water and I add 1 minced clove of garlic. The rest is the same. This is a family favourite :-)!

Crust for Veggie Pot Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2004
This is a great recipe - WONDERFUL with the Veggie Pot Pie recipe. I used whole wheat pastry flour rather than white flour and it turned out great. I omitted the bottom crust when I made the Veggie Pot Pie - just made a thick top crust. It was easier and we didn't miss the bottom crust at all. GREAT RECIPE!!

Veggie Pot Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2004
This dish is WONDERFUL! I added 1/2 cup of cooked lentils for protein and I used 3 tbsps of corn starch. I used 9x13 pan and I omitted the bottom crust - a lot easier and we didn't miss it. EVERYONE loved it!! Thanks for this great recipe!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2001
These burritos were great. My husband loved them. I used black beans instead of kidney (easier to mash) and I ended up not needing to add ANY water to the beans. I cut down a bit on the mustard as well. Other than that, I made no other changes and they were great. A fabulous vegetarian meal! Thanks!

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: May 22, 2000
This pie is just awesome! The custard type filling is *wonderful*. My kids gobbled it up :-). I served it with whipping cream on top. I did find it a little on the sweet side and I would recommend cutting the sugar back from 3/4 cup to 1/2 cup (or to taste). Try this pie and you won't be disappointed!!

Rhubarb Custard Pie IV

Reviewed: May 20, 2000
This pie is really excellent. It has just the right amount of sweetness (you can still taste the "tartness" of the rhubarb) and the *custard* like filling is wonderful. A great rhubarb pie!
