Old German Honey Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
Yummy cookie! I omitted the ginger due to personal preference. Used all the white sugar, 3/4 cup honey because that is all I had and subbed remainder with 1/2 cup brown sugar. I did not melt the ingredients together due to a hunch that they didn't need it. I beat them like normal cookies and used a cookie scoop. I think this helped them not to spread or overbake. I dipped these in cinnamon sugar hot out of the oven. Perfect touch. Nice delicate and balanced flavor.

Dessert Crepes

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
First time making crepes and with the help of this recipe it was a great success! I liked the addition of sugar to the batter, just a touch of sweetness to the crepe itself was perfect. Thanks for a great recipe!

Sucre a la Creme

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
Yummy! I didn't have heavy cream so I substituted 3/4 cup 1/2% milk and 1/3 cup real butter. I also didn't wait the 5 minutes cooling time because I missed that in the directions and it still turned out wonderful!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
Excellent! Added plain bread crumbs for texture, no basil and a little dried dill per our taste. Definitely will make again and thanks for a great and easy recipe.

Cheesecake Dessert Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
Perfect! Great flavor and texture, loved the cinnamon in the crust. I swirled about 1/2 C. (microwave warmed) raspberry preserves on top before baking which made these extra yummy. Make sure you refrigerate these as specified because they need it.

Double Chocolate Brownie Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Excellent recipe! Baked as two 9" rounds about 35 minutes. I used strong coffee in place of the water. Per other reviewers I only added 1 cup mini chocolate chips. I frosted this (it was a birthday cake for my daughter) with chocolate coffee buttercream frosting. Gone by the next day. Thanks for a great recipe!

Delilah's Frosted Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
This is a great recipe for standard cut-out cookies and I have tried many! I always add approx. 1/2 cup more flour. This makes the dough easier to handle and cookies sturdier for decorating. I do not use the frosting recipe, I decorate with royal icing. These always turn out and I highly recommend them!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
This is an updated review. Really liked this recipe :) Changed just a little to our taste. Used 3 lbs. granny smith apples, no water. Used 1/2 cup real maple syrup to replace 1/2 of the sugar, used brown sugar for the other half. Made 1 and 1/2 times the topping which was perfect for us. This was very traditional apple crisp, just what we were looking for. Thank you for the recipe!

Cut-Out Cookies in a Flower Pot

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
Love this recipe, always turns out. My new favorite! Used a little more flour and used almond extract instead of butter. Rolled between wax paper and cut out hedgehog shaped cookies. The flavor (with the almond) was outstanding. These were extremely sturdy cookies, just what I was looking for to put on sticks.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
Served for an engagement party, everyone loved it! Replaced the ranch dressing with Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing from this site and the canned chicken with leftover turkey that I had frozen. Loved the celery with this more than the crackers. Would definitely make again.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
We loved these! My teenage son asked to take them to a class party at school! Was out of shortening so subbed all butter, they spread a little but tasted great. My daughter suggested rolling the peanut butter cup in the dough which worked awesome, will continue to do it that way from now on.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
Excellent cookie! I did double the cocoa powder because we like a deeper chocolate flavor. Used a full bag (about 35 or so) miniature peanut butter cups chopped, no peanut butter chips, still used the chocolate chips. Used a cookie scoop and baked 10 minutes. Perfect textured cookie, great salty/sweet combo, we loved them!

Eat Michigan Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
The dressing is fabulous, definitely a new favorite! I love the dried cherries and goat cheese together! I tweaked it just to lower the calories. Only used 1/4 cup oil and subbed 1/4 cup water. Used light Kraft mayo. No pecans. Thank you for such a great recipe!

Chili I

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
This wass a good base recipe to start with. I originally spiced it as the recipe stated but we found it wasn't enough for us. I doubled (maybe even a little more than doubled) the chili powder and added a couple pinches of cayenne. It was perfect for our taste buds. We did like the vinegar in it as per the recipe.

Mom's Island Treasures

Super awesome cookie, chewy and crisp! I tweaked this a little- about 1 1/2 cups coconut, no nuts, replaced with 1 cup white chips, used 3/4 cup butter. Baked about 12 minutes for my oven. Rave reviews from both my husband and kids and the friends at our bible study

Dutch Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
Excellent dutch apple pie, everyone loved it! Perfect crust and streusal topping, especially combined with the tart apples. I did slice my apples as suggested by other reviewers and I also added 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp nutmeg to both crust and filling as others suggested as well. Next time I would only add it to the filling so the delicate brown sugar flavor of the streusal could be appreciated more, I may even leave out spices as original recipe states. This is definately a keeper recipe!
