Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2014
Delicious! I made according to directions adding 1/2 salsa instead of tomato sauce plus a liberal sprinkle of taco seasoning. I served this as a side dish to the Salsa Chicken found on this site. My hubby thought he was in heaven! Thank you.

Creamy Scalloped Potatoes by Daisy Brand

Delicious! I didn't have a any Asiago cheese, but it was good with a Mexican blend of Monterey Jack, cheddar, Quest Quesadilla and Asadero cheese. They're were no leftovers anyway!

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2014
Delicious! Made it for our company who completely devoured the cake. Caution should be used to not over mix it as the longer you mix it, even by hand, the more flaky the cake becomes and I was aiming for a slightly denser cake. Very good, I will definitely make this one again!

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2013
Delicious! I made it pretty much as written, only I made a 1/2 batch for myself. My husband doesn't care for potato soup, but he decided to try it and LOVED IT! ... In fact I didn't get much of it... lol I will definitely make this recipe again. Thanks for sharing.

Steak Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
It was a little bland, which I'd read more of the reviews before I made it. Next time I will add some worchestershire sauce to give it a little more flavour.

Raspberry Angel Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
they ate the WHOLE cake! I forgot to add the flavorings...but it was still delicious. I put the whole box of jellow powder in the remaining 1/3 of the cake batter and cut it through the batter already in the pan, it was easy and looked beautiful. Only one word of advice: DON'T peek in the oven while the cake is baking! My cake fell, because I couldn't resist the urge to peek. I also used the Raspberry Sauce recipe from this site (very good I might add) and topped it with a bit of whipped cream. It was not only delicious, but looked pretty too. :-)

Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
delicious and easy to make. I skipped the 3rd step as others have done and it was very tasty. I used frozen raspberries and only added 1/4 c of sugar. The raspberries were from our garden so maybe that's why it was extra yummy?! ;-) will definitely make again.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
definitely a favorite. I followed the advice with other about adding the bacon, but it wasn't until I added the vinegar that the chowder came alive. Even my husband loved it and he's a picky eater!

Chocolate Gingerbread Trifle

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
very good, at least it must have been. I took it to a potluck dinner and only got to take my share from scraping the bowl! I was a little unsure if I had enough gingerbread mix, but it worked out just right.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
my husbands favorite bread recipe. Easy to make and very tasty. I let it rise in a slightly warmed oven and it rises quickly. It rises faster than the recipe states, so don't forget it in there!

Sugar Cookie Drops

Loved them and so did the 45 kids I made them for!! A keeper. I didn't add any additional ingredients as others have suggested, but rolled them in white sugar for decoration and put 2-3 jumbo confetti pieces on the top. Lovely to look at, tasty to eat! thank you.

Spicy Southwestern Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
I didn't have any fresh cilantro, so used dried cilantro instead. It turned out fine. We didn't eat up all of the slaw, so the next day had leftovers. It was HOT!! lol so my advice, if you don't like it too spicy, eat all of the salad the first sitting! :-)

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
excellent flavor although I had to double the butter, soy sauce and vinegar mixture. It took about 20 minutes of baking time for the asparagus to be tender. I will be making this recipe again...yummy.
