Old Fashioned Potato Salad

i love this recipe. this was my first time making potato salad...i accidently put a cup of onions instead of half so there was too much flavor.. next time i'll add something more.. like ham

Alysia's Basic Meat Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2006
This was my first time making lasagna. My parents absolutely loved it. It tasted like it was straight from a restaurant. Next time I might try adding mushroom.

Smothered Green Beans II

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
I made this tonight as a sidedish for a tuna casserole. My family loved it so much they went back for seconds. Because of the other reviews, I made a few adjustments. I used only one cup water, 1/4 of a lrg onion and 1/4 cup brown sugar and wor. sauce each. It still came out too sweet in the end I put lots of salt and pepper to taste and it came out perfect. Thanks

Gerry's Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2006
This took me close to 3 hours to make, including the simmering and the half hour it took to shred all the meat. (i'm new to cooking) But it was well worth it. My family loved it. I switched it to flour tortillas and made 6 HUGE enchiladas then ran off to class. When I got back there was only one left for me. This recipe is a keeper.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2006
parents loved it but it wasn't for me. I used olive oil to keep the bread crumbs on and tied the rolls up with floss because i didn't have toothpicks. I also ran out of cheese so I sprinkled paprika, salt, pepper on the other two. Next time i'll make it with a sauce because it was a little dry. Maybe put cream of mushroom half way through baking?

Easy Fried Spinach

I used to make this as all the time. It's a great way to eat cheap. It's even better with sliced mushrooms and oyster sauce

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
Followed some suggestions and used mushrooms and chicken broth and instead of water for more flavor. I also didn't let it completely evaporate so I could pour some over my rice. This was a good recipe but something was still missing.

Am I the only one who burned the dish? The salmon turned out pretty good. Baked for 45 minutes. Could have been better.

Chicken in a Pot

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
The sauce was pretty bland and runny, so as I was cooking it I threw in some corn starch to thicken it up, red pepper flakes, and about half a shot of sake... I also simmed it 10 minutes longer (thick piece of chicken). Next time I'll pound out the chicken so it cooks evenly. So good!

i'm not sure what i did wrong. i followed all the directions. when i took it out, it looked like the outside cooked faster than the inside. the outside was hard and half of the inside was still wet. i put it back in for 10 more minutes...same. i dont think i under/over stirred the mixed. what could i have done wrong?

Spanish-Style Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
We had this over rice. It was very flavorful and one of the top dishes I've made from this site. Unfortunately, it wasn't as spicy as I expected. Actually, it wasn't spicy at all.. ( i love spicy) I even added extra red pepper.. I will try again and adjust the spices.

Thai Barbeque Marinade

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
I tried this on my pork chops today when I found out that I ran out of soy sauce for marinade. I didn't think the fish sauce and honey would work well together but it did! It was perfect! The boyfriend even asked for seconds. The only extra I added was a dash of red pepper flakes. This worked well with pork but I think it'll be even better with chicken.. Thanks!

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
I just made these. I cooked them in a cast iron skillet which wanted to pull the breading off the chops.. Then after I baked two, the top side was crunchy while the bottom was greasy. The other two I fried and they tasted the same but more crunchy. As other reviewers noted, cut the eggs and breading down.. way too much.. Also, don't use a cast iron skillet, dries up too fast... If baking, maybe put them on a rack so they don't get soggy.. Other than that, it's a good basic breaded chop recipe and I will try it again with a few changes
