Vegan Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
At the end I added a little bit more spice and some sugar to make it more sweet and spicy, but it's a perfect base recipe that you can take and make it to your own taste.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
They make decent sized patties, which surprised me, I tend to do bigger portions. Yesterday I had this with mustard & ketchup on top, bun-less because I'm trying to not eat so many carbs. Today I'm eating it with spaghetti sauce and cheddar. I froze the other 6. This is a new item to add to my rotation. I used Thai Sweet Chili Sauce, was out chili pepper so I added a tiny bit more. It was hot enough, without killing my tummy. So much better than boca or morningstar. Will do again.

Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
When I first found this recipe I made it every week for about 3 months straight. It is SO good just the way it is. My word of caution is to always measure out the ginger, because if you add too much, like I did last time it ruins it. This soup changes flavor every day it sits. The first day it gets sweeter, then it will get more tangy as the days go by. I think it's best at 24 hours.

Millet Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
I'm genuinely confused by this recipe. The photos all look like they used whole millet instead of millet flour. Many people speak of the crunchiness of the recipe, which again makes me assume they used whole millet instead of the ground flour that the instructions call for. They turned out okay with the millet being ground into flour, kind'a like a cross between cornbread and honey biscuits baked into a muffin. I will try this again and leave the millet whole to see if I like it better. They weren't amazing, but I wouldn't be against making them again.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
I made this EXACTLY as written above. Despite the other reviews I thought it was mediocre at best. Now in context... I'm a Wisconsin Girl. WHERE IS THE CHEESE?!!! Thankfully this was fixable. Add 1 pound bag of sharp cheddar cheese. 1 extra pound of broccoli. Add a TON on minced garlic and some black pepper. Whip with an electric whipper. Made this version for thanksgiving and it was ALL GONE!!!!!!

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
We loved this!!! I ended up being lazy and not adding the pasta. It was still great! A huge plus to this is Jamie knows enough to keep the pasta separate from the soup! Now that's a sign of a good cook!!! Thank you for sharing!!!

Ghirardelli Fudgy Gluten-Free Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
This recipe is fine for Gluten Free Cooking. I'm a pretty experienced cook, but had never used almond flour before this. I STRONGLY suggest sifting both flours. Additionally SKIP the salt. I called these gluten free sweet and salty brownies. I also had to bake them closer to 35-40 minutes. That being said those issues aside it turned out well!
