Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2013
I don't know how these could be any better. I followed the recipe exactly, and they were REALLY delicious! I doubled the batch, and it wasn't enough for my 3 kids (14, 12, and 8). Then, I made ANOTHER double batch!

Classic Creamy Coleslaw

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
Very good! I used two 14oz bags of coleslaw mix instead of shredding my own, and used only half of the other ingredients. I think I could have cut the other ingredients down even more and still would have had enough dressing. Next time, I may put a little bit of horseradish in.

Potato Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
This was VERY good. I'd been looking for a potato soup recipe that would be worth making again - this is it - delicious! Like others, I didn't wind up needing to use the cornstarch to thicken it. HOWEVER, that may be because I used a couple extra potatoes & mashed some as I stirred before serving. Also, like others, I put crumbled bacon on top.

Wisconsin Bratwurst

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
Really good. I also added a little celery seed (seed, not salt). I found that 2 beers plus a little water was enough for 5 brats. I will make them this way from now on. Only having them on the grill for a short time helped me. I used to always burn them when I grilled them because I worried that they weren't done. I followed another reviewer's tip and returned them to the pan to keep warm, and it worked very well. Sometimes, with regional food, people assume we all know how to cook it as well as they do. I love simple and yummy recipes. Thanks!

The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2006
This was very good. I usually prefer the unbaked type of strawberry pie, but I liked this. The topping is very good. I found that I did not need to mound the berries much, mine were not settling on their own, so I pushed them down toward the end of the cooking time. Next time, I will not mound them quite as much.

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: May 13, 2003
This really is delicious. It was a little hard to believe I made it. I did tie the rosemary in a coffee filter and remove it with the bay leaves when I was ready to shred the beef. I can't imagine anyone not liking this, it is that good. Thank-you Lori for this -- I've been telling everyone about it.
