Sweet and Savory Kale

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
Great recipe. Thanks for sharing. Left out the sugar completely. It really doesn't need it. Substituted raisins for cranberries and they were sweet enough.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
This recipe was pretty good, although I did make a few changes. First of all, I cut the recipe in half. I substituted honey for the sugar and melted butter for the veggie oil. I then cooked it in a greased (butter) cast iron skillet. It turned out to be smoother than other cornbread I have made. Maybe something to do with the soaking. Thanks for sharing!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
I love sweet potatoes, so when I saw this recipe, I had to try it. We thought it was really good. Just enough spice. The only thing I did differently was that I mixed the sweet potatoes and bean mixture together. We tried them separately on the first run. My husband and I both thought that they were better mixed together. Thanks for sharing.

Super Al's Cocktail Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
Very good sauce, but really spicy! I used bottled horseradish and maybe that made the difference. Next time, I will use half of the horseradish and go from there. Thanks for the recipe.

Best Lemonade Ever

Great lemonade. Cut the sugar to a little over 1 cup and it was sweet enough. Served it at a cookout and everyone enjoyed it. Thanks!

Iced Mochas

Thanks for this great recipe. The youth at our church serve this, mostly to people who don't like hot coffee!! We really enjoy this drink!

Heavenly Blueberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
Great recipe. I used regular milk and plain yogurt and added a couple of drops of vanilla extract. It cut the tang of the yogurt just enough. My banana wasn't frozen, but the blueberries were. I thought it was cold enough. Thanks for sharing.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
Very good blondies! Doubled recipe (9x13 pan) and didn't add walnuts because I didn't have any. Added white chocolate chips to the batter. Very rich and sweet. Thanks.

Harvest Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2007
Made recipe almost as posted (no whipping cream, used half and half). Soup was alright. Maybe I will add the onions next time. I would also cut down on the sage.

The chicken was ok. Good for dinner in a pinch, but not the best.

Mafioso Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2007
I loved this cake, but my husband thought it was a little too rich. I was surprised that the icing didn't harden. Maybe not as much milk next time.

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2005
Very easy, moist and flavorful. We followed the recipe exactly and thought it was very good. We did boil the marinade, but didn't like it as a sauce. The meat was good enough without it!
