Hot and Sour Chicken Soup
Great recipe! Everyone thought it tasted restaurant-quality and couldn't believe it when I told them how easy it was to pull together. I gave it 4 stars because there were a few things I think it was lacking. For one, it definitely needed a bit more kick. I upped the red pepper flakes from 1/4 tsp to 1/2 tsp and it still wasn't quite right. I think next time I'll add chile paste and hopefully that'll do the trick. Also, I think it needed a 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp of salt. Or maybe next time I will just marinate the chicken in some salt and pepper-- as it is in the recipe, it tasted a bit bland compared to the deliciousness of the soup. Overall though, this was great and I can't wait to make it again with these minor tweaks!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
These were decent pancakes but nothing amazing. I added extra milk because the batter felt too thick for my taste, and also a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a half tsp more sugar. They were fluffy but not moist, so I think I may add more butter next time around. Also, I'd advise using maybe half a tsp of salt rather than a whole tsp.

Gyros Burgers
This recipe pleasantly surprised me; really simple to make and really flavorful. My one suggestion would be to actually blend the onion and garlic before adding it to the meat to make it smoother. I definitely made my burgers way too thick this time, so making sure they are thin is also a plus. I served this with homemade tzatziki sauce (made using the tzatziki sauce I recipe here), in a pita with lettuce and onions and it tasted 100% like a gyro, but way more filling. Super tasty. Next time, I'm looking forward to taking some reviewers advice and blending the meat, baking it like a meatloaf, and then slicing it thinly. My mouth's watering just thinking of it!
