About this Cook
I do love cooking, hate the clean up though. I'd rather cook then do about anything. I like to walk miles at a time with the dog.
My favorite things to cook
I would have to say dessert would be my favorites things to cook. I like to see recipes online and make them. Allrecipes.com has been sending some pretty awesome recipes my way but they are way too fattening. I only make them once in awhile.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a big family with my husband being from Italy but unfortunately we don't have much contact with them right now. I have 4 grown children spread all over the USA so my big meals are now just for my husband and i and it's not as much fun.
My cooking triumphs
My desserts are awesome! Recently I hosted my daughter Jillian's bridal shower with the help off a friend's husband. We knocked it out of the ball park!!
My cooking tragedies
Not too many of those but I do remember cooking a lamb stuffed with spinach and cheese and I cooked the hell out of it. It wasn't too bad except I had made that for Easter dinner and everyone just looked at it. One Christmas, the oven broke and the heat in the house broke at the same time. The vegetables froze on the back porch and we all had to sit around a fireplace that wouldn't stay lit. I did get to cook the turkey in the basement but we didn't eat until really late. Oh and we had 12 people over freezing and hungry!

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo
I made this tonight and I should have doubled the recipe for one pound of pasta. My turned out dry. I cooked the shrimp shells for a little broth and used the broth to stretch the sauce. I also cooked the shrimp with the butter and garlic and then removed them when they were cooked to add them back when the sauce was thicker. It was ok and I think I will try another recipe.

Kale, Quinoa, and Avocado Salad with Lemon Dijon Vinaigrette
I was going to a party and I decided to make this recipe. I tripled the recipe and made it the night before. It was such a hit at the party and everyone wanted the recipe. I made it tonight for my husband and his friend and they haven't stopped raving about it. I recommend it 100%

Little Nut Cups
I didn't like these at all. They are too sweet and they were messy to make
