Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: May 14, 2003
This cheesecake rivals anything you will ever buy in a bakery or a fine restaurant! I've read all the tips and here's the scoop on the "Undercooked" problem. I baked it according to the directions but after the hour at 200 degrees, I simply shut the oven off. DO NOT PROP THE DOOR OPEN. I left the cheesecake in the oven for a few hours. Actually, I went to bed around 1am when the baking was done, got up for work at 5am, took the cake out of the oven and put it in the fridge. There were NO cracks and it was set perfectly! This is the best cheesecake I've ever had and can be the basic starter for any additions you may want to make, like chocolate chips or carmel sauce... give it a shot, it's easier than you think!!

Sesame Chicken Strips with Sweet Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2003
This was an awesome recipe! Moist, tender and very flavorful! I made it as a main dish by using pounded out chicken breasts (halved) and increased the cooking time to about 35 minutes. I modified the recipe by adding dijon mustard (a few tablespoons) to the final dipping sauce and thinning out the mayo/mustard dredge with some olive oil and regular mustard. I would suggest making more of the sesame/cracker crumb mix because I didnt have quite enough. Great job Erica!

Chocolate Chip Crispy Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2004
Save the crispy rice cereal for Saturday morning cartoons. If you use them for these cookies you will be haunted by the ghost of Mr Kellogg for the rest of your days. The dough is way too crumbly.

A Simply Perfect Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
Just like the name says. Simply Perfect. I used to brine or dry cure my turkey, which was a chore because I have to make a large turkey. But this turns out perfectly every time. I put the neck and gibblets in the roasting pan and there are plenty of juices to make the perfect turkey gravy.

Coconut Smore Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Seriously... there isnt any coconut in Smores and where's the graham crackers? I melted the marshmellows as instructed. Am I the only one who had it solidify on the beaters? After working through all the problems I found these cookies to be only passable and really not worth the effort that went into it. I VERY much wanted to love these... my wife and daughter liked them but prefer my chocolate chip cookies. I won't be making this version again. Sorry

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake I

Reviewed: May 8, 2003
Out of 5 possible Stars this recipe should get 100! Fantastic! This is the first cheesecake I've ever made. I made the cheesecake, put it in the oven for the hour, then shut the oven off. Since it was midnight, I asked my daughter to take it out of the oven after an hour... So of course I got up the next morning and found it still in the oven! Guess what! IT WAS STILL FANTASTIC!! (not a bad first cheesecake for a single dad)

Easy Sausage Gravy and Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
If the streets of heaven are paved in gold, the swimming pools are filled with this sausage gravy! *Note: Use good sausage. The cheap stuff will not work out well for anybody.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
Fantastic! I used a half a bone in turke breast but left everything else the same. I could have cut down the cooking time, but hey, it was a busy day. I rubbed the turkey breast with seasoned salt and chicken bullion powder. Then drizzled a couple of tablespoons of melted butter over it. DO NOT ADD WATER. You'll be tempted but dont do it. There will be plenty of drippings for a fantastic gravy! I just poured the drippings into a sauce pan, whisked in some flour and brought it to a boil. It was the best turkey gravy I ever made! My wife and little girl want to know when I'm making this again.

Mexican Cream Cheese Rollups

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I'm giving this two stars because one person out of 20 who tried it, liked it. I saved this recipe a long time ago and couldnt wait for New Years Eve to give it a try. Boy was I dissapointed. The only change I made to the recipe was to put in half the amount of green onions because 6 is just seemed to be a lot. As it turned out, even 3 made it too oniony (is that a word?). Nobody looked forward to eating this more than me. I'm sorry it didnt taste as good as it sounded.

S.O.P.P.

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
Did you ever have a favorite recipe that you've forgotten about over the years? Well THIS is one! What a fantastic meal! OMG! I have to admit that I've never made it with smoked sausage, just Italian sausage. Now I cant wait to make it, and I'll be trying it with smoked sausage too. Did I just hear my tummy growl? You bet I did!!

Oven-Fried Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
I followed this recipe but seasoned my own bread crumbs and used a mixture of mustard and mayo instead of the eggs, which I was out of. The time of cooking was pretty much spot on and everything was fantastic! This is going into the regular rotation!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2004
This was everything you would expect from a cake like, almost chewy cookie. I think you would probably get a better cookie by adding some unsweetened cocoa powder to your favorite chocolate chip recipe. I tried this one because I needed a chocolate chip cookie that didnt need milk or brown suger... it's snowing and I'm running low on both. Try it and enjoy!!

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

This was very good! I had trouble before with mushrooms on the skewers but marinading them made them more pliable and they didn't fall apart. The chicken and bacon combo was fantastic!

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
Fantastic Meatballs! I halved the recipe. Used just 80/20 ground beef and baked them in the oven instead of frying them. I must have tried HUNDREDS of meatball recipes to get something more uniform than what I usually do, which is just throwing things together till it looks right. Thanks Geanine!

Bacon Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
The only reason this recipe got 2 stars is because the chicken tasted just passable. It looked very unappealing. I'm an experienced home cook and followed the recipe exactly. After looking at this when it was served, then tasting it, we ordered out. In the words of my daughter, "Eew Daddy, what is it??"

Chocolate Pretzels

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2004
Not reading the reviews, I too was perplexed by the fact that the Kisses didnt melt the way the recipe indicated. Strangly enough, I couldnt find the round pretzels and used the Waffle ones instead and smashed the Kiss with the M&M. They tasted great but did not look good enough to use as a gift. Next time I'll try the microwave as suggested.... AND from now on I'll read the reviews of the smartest cooks in the world... my fellow www.allrecipes.com subscribers!

Cereal Treats II

A little sticky but great! It helps if you just add a little more cereal. It's quick and good with every cereal that I've tried it with. I also added toffee pieces to cocoa crispy cereal and they came out great!!

Oven Kalua Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2013
I made this over the weekend. Along with the liquid smoke and sea salt, I rubbed the pork with some sesame oil to replace the earthiness usually provided by the banana leaves (as suggested by another reviewer) This was fantastic! Served with some creamy coleslaw. Thanks for the recipe!

Dijon-Tarragon Cream Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
Excellent! Coated the breasts with flour and sauted a tablespoon of chopped garlic after browning the chicken. Used half & half instead of heavy cream and dried tarragon instead of fresh because thats what I had on hand and I couldnt wait to try this. Can't say enough good things about it!!
