One Bowl Buttercream Frosting

I found out I didn't have any baker's chocolate after making my cake and needed a recipe using cocoa powder. I saw this recipe and had all the ingredients so I decided to give it a try. I didn't expect much from such a simple recipe but I was really surprised, this is extraordinarily good! Creamy and smooth! It's my go-to frosting now.

Lemon Bars I

These lemon bars are easy to make and so good! They had just the right consistency, perfect lemon flavor and a great shortbread base. I'm not sure if it's needed but I sprayed the upper sides of the pan after the shortbread was baked just because I was afraid the lemon part would stick. Maybe not needed but they came out of the pan very easily and it didn't seem to hurt anything. Thanks for a great recipe, Sallie.

Mustard Onion Pork Chops

I made this recipe because I had the ingredients on hand and it looked easy. I was really surprised when it was so good! I didn't give it 5 stars because I didn't use the amount of mustard called for, I just liberally brushed dijon mustard on the top. I used dijon because that's our favorite and less mustard was right for us because we loved it. I sprinkled the top with the onions rather than measured, but mine could have used more, so Amelia, you were right. Next time (and there will be a next time) I'm going to crush the onions to see if that's better, but this recipe is definitely a keeper!

Lemon Pudding Cake I

I must have gone horribly wrong because I ended up with a mess! I followed the recipe exactly and the sauce was on the bottom and the cake was on top, but... The sauce didn't thicken even a little bit and was runny. The cake part was thin, maybe 3/4 inch, and tasted only partially baked. I tasted the lemon (liquid) and it did have a wonderful taste. I'm sure it was me since everyone else had success with this recipe, but I won't try it again.

Hollandaise Sauce

Jeremy's Philly Steak and Cheese Sandwich

This looked really good but I didn't have all the ingredients, so I had to substitute. Instead of cream cheese, I used 5 wedges of the Laughing Cow garlic and herb cheese and eliminated the garlic. I used Mozzarella instead of Swiss and it still came out great. Love this sandwich!

Brownie Mix in a Jar II

After years of bought brownie mixes, these are the real deal. They taste like homemade and are perfect for brownie sundaes, topped with ice cream and drizzled hot fudge. Of course they're terrific as is, too. I made up jars for gifts and they were a smash hit!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I was trying to make an oatmeal raisin cookie like my mother's, so I experimented a little bit and substituted nutmeg for cloves, used 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, added 1/4 tsp. ginger, only used 2 1/2 cups of rolled oats and used golden raisins and these cookies were delicious.

Crab Dip

Two-Cheese Scalloped Potatoes

To accomodate our tastes, I cut down the onion to 1/2 cup, used one cup of monterey, 2 cups of sharp cheddar and eliminated the ketchup. This dish came out great!

Easy Spinach Lasagna with White Sauce

This is a good alternative to regular lasagna. I cooked the noodles because it only seemed right so I didn't give the uncooked noodles a chance (Sorry Juanita) and eliminated the carrots for personal preference. A fast and easy meal.

Nacho Cheese Sauce

I poured (yes, poured!) this sauce over broccoli and it was fantastic. I've been looking for a really good cheese sauce and this is it. I'm going to try it over nachos and on chili dogs soon.
