Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 13, 2003
Very good, although I wasn't as impressed with the texture or overall taste as I have been with other stuffed mushroom recipes. The cheese flavor didn't come out very well, and they seemed a little dry. (That might have been our fault.) My boyfriend loved them exactly as they were, though, so I'm sure we will be making them again.

Portobello Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 13, 2003
We only used the marinade in the recipe since we wanted to eat them as was. It was delicious! It was a little tangy and imparted a nice flavor without being overwhelming. We didn't, and wouldn't, change a thing.

Hearty Vegetable Lasagna

Reviewed: May 13, 2003
The lasagna was very good, but the flavors weren't as intense as I would have liked. We only used 8oz. of noodles, which was a good move because we still had one left over. We will probably make it again, but with a bit more spice.

Strawberry Soup I

Reviewed: May 13, 2003
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I cut out the water entirely and we drank it like a smoothie. I was afraid the cardamon would interfere with the strawberry flavor, but it brought it out beautifully! I will be making this again, and again, and again... you get the picture.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: May 10, 2003
A little labor intensive, but the product is definitely worth it! It's more of a dessert than an appetizer, though.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: May 10, 2003
The chili was very good but not fantastic. That might have been because we didn't use the black bean soup, but the chili flavor itself wasn't very strong either even though we used chili beans rather than kidney beans. The lack of chili flavor did allow the other veggie flavors to come through. We will definitely make this again, but maybe with a bit more tomato and the black bean soup. I didn't think it was too sweet with the baked beans, but you definitely need to like beans to like this recipe.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: May 10, 2003
WOW! We didn't know it was possible to squeeze this much fat into a delicious dessert! It was outstanding and tremendously easy. The batter is very thick! It looks more like mousse than cake batter. The only difficulty we had was with the outside burning a bit before the cake was fully cooked. After shaving off the outside, though, it was wonderful. We suggest serving it warm because the flavors aren't as intense after it cools.

Hummus III

Reviewed: May 10, 2003
This was absolutely delicious! One of the best hummus recipes we've ever tried! It's the only one we use now. The only modification we made was with the salt. The original recipe was a bit too salty for us, but after cutting the salt in half, it was wonderful. Rather than using a blender, we use an Oscar/food processer because the consistency is so thick.

Feta Eggs

Reviewed: May 10, 2003
A yummy way to spruce up eggs, but more feta is needed to bring out the other flavors. We added garlic, which was a nice addition, but the overall product was a little bland.
