Very Chocolate Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2014
Excellent, simple recipe. We used Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate and the level of chocolate flavor is EXCELLENT! We followed the recipe exactly and had absolutely no problems with it freezing or anything else. If you are a chocolate fanatic, try this and you'll be very happy. We doubled the recipe and folded in chopped up "butterfinger cups" at the end but the possibilities are endless! ENJOY

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2013
My son suggested we have grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup one night for dinner. I immediately searched here and am glad I did. This recipe is very simple and it's very likely you will have all of the ingredients on hand already. Ok, I'll admit it, I too made a few changes. First off, I'm not a clove fan so they had to go. Instead I used about 1 1/2 teaspoons of granulated garlic and a pinch or so of basil. I started by sauteeing the garlic and onion together then added a the basil, chicken broth and tomatoes and followed the recipe from there. The finished product is great. I'm not sure if I'll ever eat tomato soup from a can again. This also gives me another idea for what to do with the leftover tomatoes I'm going to have from my garden this year!

Summertime Tilapia

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
I had some tilapia in the freezer but wanted to do something different with it than usual. This recipe sounded great and I had pretty much all the ingredients on hand so I printed it off and got after it! The marinade smelled AMAZING! I didn't measure the ingredients, just kind of guessed which I do often. Mine turned out to be a little "strong". But, I'm about 99% sure it's because I likely used too much red wine vinegar. So, measure that out accurately and you should be good to go. Excellent recipe, ENJOY!

Salsa II

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
Ok, this recipe is HOT!!!!!!!!!! And, I like some heat to most things so that is saying something. Just a couple of recommendations: 1. Double the salt 2. Cut the jalapeno and cayenne in half. If you do those two things u will have a salsa with just enough heat and just the right amount of salt. ENJOY!

I don't remember what beef I used but it was quite tough. Stick with what's recommended in the recipe and you should have excellent luck. Very flavorful stuff and easy to make. Enjoy!

Colorful Fried Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
Easy recipe with good flavor. I used rice I had made with chicken stock. I think next time I'll just use plain white rice. Either way a good, simple recipe that I'll use again!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
I was in the mood for homemade biscuits and my yahoo search turned up these. Simple recipe and the biscuits were pretty darned good. I'd like to find a more buttery tasting recipe or maybe add a little more butter to these or brush them with butter fresh out of the oven. If you are looking for a good, solid biscuit recipe, try this one! I'll definitely make them again.....just with more butter!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
Very good recipe and low in fat and calories. We used a "very hot" hot sauce which made for some really nice but intense heat! Sometimes it can be difficult to find good recipes that are low in fat and calories. Don't be afraid to try this one. It's EXCELLENT! We served Zatarans yellow rice as one side and asparagus as the other. Great meal. THANKS Kate!

Chicken Fajita Marinade

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
I was looking for a good chicken fajita marinade that was fairly simple but had authentic taste. THIS IS IT! The end product has a very nice citrus flair from the lime juice combined with a nice smoky flavor from the cumin. We marinated for about 3 hours the first batch and it was pretty good. We put the extra chicken breasts in the used marinade and marinated overnight and they were UNBELIEVABLE! Try this, you'll love it!
