About this Cook
Helping Grandma in her hot kitchen for hours was the norm while growing up. With some education in culinary arts and my love of food, it helped path the way to numerous tasty dishes in my kitchen. Currently, I'm in the business of banquet catering and serving. Our job is to make food look and taste beautiful. My cooking confession: I'm a cake snob.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican-inspired, vegetarian, fish, and breakfast/brunch.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Bacardi Rum Cake - It's tradition. Take it to work, and you will win the affection of your colleagues.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to impress my boyfriend by making a chocolate cake from scratch and didn't have enough chocolate. Tragedy! Well, he's a ex-boyfriend now. Never skim on the chocolate.

Southwest White Chicken Chili
One hitter winner with the family. Just added a jar of salsa, green onions, cayenne pepper and chiles to it to kick up that southwestern flavor. Sprinkle with cheese and top it off with a dollop of sour cream. Yummy!

Lemon Pepper Chicken and Gravy
I added maybe a 1/2 tsp of lemon zest to bring out the lemon flavor. Family loved it. Will recommend and make again.

Zucchini Bread
Made it exactly how it's written, and it came out perfect. This was my first time making zucchini bread and it was great. My Hubby ate the second loaf all by himself. Next time I make it, someone made a suggestion to add applesauce instead of veggie oil. I want to try that. Maybe add some dried cranberries or raisins. It's a easy recipe to manipulate. Thanks!
