Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy
I gave the original recipe as published here 3 stars. With some modifications, it becomes a 4-5 star recipe.
I added 2 eggs instead of one to the meat and included some diced dehydrated onion and shredded Parmesan cheese as well. I formed 6 patties and dredged them in flour that I added seasoning salt and steak seasoning to. Once they were fried up, I used the extra dredging flour in the gravy mix. I added a Tablespoon of butter and some French's toasted onions (the kind used in that wonderful Thanksgiving green bean casserole). Once this formed a roux, I added one can of French onion soup mix and one can of beef broth. I didn't have sherry, so I used a white table wine...worked fine. I served this with mashed potatoes and a pear Gorgonzola salad. My husband INHALED his dinner, and my son went back for seconds. VERY good. I will make it again.
