Giblet Gravy II

Easy Valentine Sandwich Cookies

I liked the flavor of this cookie. However it was a bit difficult to work with and I've been making cookies for 50 years! I did not make the sandwich because I didn't get 17 of each cookie as the recipe stated. So I melted some German chocolate and dipped each cookie in on one side. I put red food coloring in the batter so the pink cookie with a chocolate edge was perfect for a valentine!

Chicken and Corn Chili

Because I had huge breasts(!) I only used 2 and it was plenty of chicken. Actually I added a can of black beans also because there were not enough beans in it. Otherwise I made it exactly and we loved it!

White Velvet Cutouts

This is a good cut out cookie recipe. Not too sweet, but good enough to eat without icing. I put red food coloring in the batter and did Valentine cut outs of hearts of different sizes.

Broccoli and Stilton Soup

I ended up changing this recipe because I didn't have blue cheese, there wasn't enough broccoli for us and I didn't use the oil to saute the onion. But it was the start of my own recipe which I am submitting to allrecipes.com next.

Garlic and Artichoke Pizza

Nice flavor using 2 huge garlics! Would have been better if the crust was better. Used a Mia precooked crust. Will never buy one again. They are like eating cardboard covered with pizza sauce!

Beans and Greens

We really liked this alot. Only thing I did differently was omit the oil and added a can of whole leaf spinach because just the 1 package of frozen wasn't enough. Next time I will try it with 2 pkgs of frozen. I used freshly ground pepper and did not add any salt. As others commented, there was plenty of salt in it from the canned beans.

Pancho Villa Baked Tilapia

Made as stated. Very bland. Did as others suggested and had fish totally dried and it was still over juicy and sloppy. That would have been ok if it had tasted better! Won't bother with this again.

Horseradish Sauce

Everyone who ate this on their prime rib on Christmas thought it was wonderful except for my husband. He would have preferred another TBSP of horseradish in it. But I knew it would be perfect for the people I was serving it to. When I make it for just the 2 of us or people who I know like spicy, I will add another TBSP of horseradish.

Creole Seasoning Blend

Perfect! Use it all the time on everything--shrimp, beef, poultry and pork as well as in a number of recipes that call for some creole seasoning. Didn't realize I had never reviewed it and I've used this for a few years now!

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

I used this recipe and cooked my shrimp in a rotisserie that I got for Christmas. Excellent. I've already made more and doubled the batch. Will inject a chicken with it and cook it the same way.

Hot Crab and Jalapeno Dip

Absolutely needs the jalapenos doubled. I used 1/4 cup walnuts and mixed them right in instead of sprinkling on top. I also used the roasted red pepper instead of oil and a fresh one as another reviewer suggested. Good suggestion! I baked this in 3 Corning Wear big ramekins and it was wonderful. They were not oily on top at all as some others had problems with. Could it be that the oil went around all the dishes instead of just one? This is a good sized recipe because I kept one dish for my husband and myself and took the others to a cocktail party with some plain crackers, so the crackers would not fight the flavors of the dip.

Louisiana Crab Dip

I halved this recipe and put it in mini phyllo shells. Then in the oven til hot. It was very good, but only filled 15 shells (one package). Didn't bother with the bread crumbs,just sprinkled some paprika on top of each.

E-Z Volcano Shrimp Dip

Put a whole can of little shrimp in and it will be 5 stars! That's what I did and everybody loved it. Easy! Way too much sauce left over tho'and there was plenty dripping down the sides. Next time I'll halve the sauce.

Congealed Chicken Salad

I used cream of chicken soup and fat free cream cheese. Made half a recipe and put it in a Christmas tree mold. Served with crackers and party rye and pumpernickel breads. Everyone said it was delicious. I thought so too, but the best part of this recipe is that you can make it up to 2 days ahead of time. That means alot when you're making food for 60-70 people! This will become a staple!!
