Chicken Pesto a la Lisa

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2004
This is delicious, but it has a very strong flavor of the sun dried tomatoes. It is also very good using gorgonzola cheese instead of feta--just use 1/2 cup of cheese instead of 3/4 cup!

Crab Delights

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
I used 4 muffins instead of 6. Also used real cheese (Colby/Jack) as others had suggested. Put in freezer and had them for New Year's Eve. Easy and delicious! Will add to recipes to keep in freezer for "case of emergency" food!!

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2003
Delicious, but with some adjustments! I doubled the amount of cheese and cut the pepper to 1 tsp from 2tsp. Everyone for Christmas loved it!

Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2003
Good taste wise. A hair thick at 1/4 cup milk. Like other reviewers I ended up using 1/3 cup and it was perfect on my red velvet cake (Hershey's from this website).

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Double the recipe if you're smart! And freeze the leftovers in a freezer bag so you can take out as many as you want at a time. Took them to a golf outing and got rave reviews!

Spicy Rye Rounds

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2003
I used homemade rye bread cut into little squares for this. I froze them ahead of time and popped them in the oven for 7-8 minutes as suggested. They were crispy toasted and hot and not a one was left, so I'd say everyone enjoyed them!

Special Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2003
I forgot to read the ratings on this recipe before I made it or I, too, would have squeezed out the relish, but since I didn't and thought it was a little too soupy, I stuck it in the refrigerator overnight before filling the eggs. It worked out fine, but next time I'd squeeze the relish also. I made 2 dozen for 18 people and there was only 1 left, so you know the taste was good!

Delicious! Too many olives tho'. Next time I'll use half a can instead of the whole one.

Tex-Mex Macaroni & Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2003
Good taste, but nowhere near enough sauce. Dry! But double the sauce part and you've got an easy, spicy meal without meat if you just make a nice tossed salad to go along with it.

Irish Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2003
Baked for 1 hr and 20 min and it was still quite jiggly. Put topping on anyway and then back into turned off oven for another hr. Added 1/4 c Bailey's to topping because batter of cheesecake didn't taste Bailey enough to me.

Hershey's® Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2003
So moist I couldn't get it out of the pan. Next time I;ll make it in 2 8" pans and maybe I'll have better luck. Also wasn't as red as I thought it'd be.

It was ok, but not worth the effort it took to make. Won't bother with it again.

Chuck's Come On Ice Cream (or Night of the Red Death) Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2003
This is good chili, but it's not hot. I used 3 jalapenos and 1 habanero. After making exactly as the recipe calls for, I added six cans of kidney beans because chili to me is with beans! Then more jalapenos and 2 more haberanos along with more chili powder and now there's some spice!

Cranberry Apple Pie III

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2003
I liked this pie very much, but that's because I like cranberries! My husband didn't like it much at all--thought it was too tart and should have more apple flavoring.

Bacon Quiche Tarts

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2003
Excellent! And the best part is you can cook & crumble the bacon and mix all the ingredients for the filling the night before and refrigerate. Then in the morning just put them together. I doubled the recipe and everyone enjoyed them immensely.
