Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2015
I used a half of habanero instead of a jalapeño and it was definitely spicy! Really liked it, but I used my food processor to cut the ingredients up which helped make the salsa creamier. It's wonderful with chips, pita bites, bagel crisps--- anything you want to scoop it up with!

Average roasted vegetable recipe. I liked better than my husband who eats veggies all the time.

Zippy Summer Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2015
Made with 1 pound of frozen , thawed shrimp and served it with whole wheat spaghetti. There was enough sauce to sufficiently cover the pasta and it ended up serving 3 people. Very easy to prepare because I had all the ingredients measured out beforehand. I used a very heaping teaspoon of red peppers and a bit more because we like spicy and it was delicious.

Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2015
Very good! I puréed the whole batch because I needed a no chewing meal. This did the trick beautifully!! Iwonder how much better it would have been if I had remembered to put the 1/2 & 1/2 in at the end!!!!!

The Best Marinade Around

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2015
Very good marinade especially because it has no sugar in it. This I think could be used on chicken and pork as well. Maybe adding some different herbs would vary the flavor so it could be used often. Very good for people who have to be on a high protein, no carb, no sugar diet. Thanks for the recipe!

Buffalo Cauliflower

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2015
Read other reviews first, so I did not expect it to be really crunchy. I made exactly as stated, but my method was different. I made the batter in a mixing bowl, threw in the cauliflower, stirred a while, then removed the cauliflower with a spoon sieve. When it came time to put the hot sauce on, I again made it in a bowl and popped the baked pieces in , stirred until completely coated and removed with the sieve back to the baking sheet. Although it wasn't very crunchy, it was delicious if you like spicy foods. When we want a change from cheese sauce or just plain, this will be what I do!

Used Napa instead of cabbage and it was very good. Threw in some cooked green beans as well because I had them! Definitely make again.

Left out the bacon and it was still good! Next time I will use Bloody Mary mix instead of tomato juice.

Lime Chicken Picante

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2014
I halved this recipe for the two of us, but I used a leg and thigh for my husband's share. We really liked the flavor in both the dark meat and the white meat. However, we didn't even bother with the yogurt and lime as the condiments to serve with the chicken. My only complaint is that there was not sauce to top it off! Should have read the reviews first! I made chicken salad with the rest of the breast I didn't eat. It was good!!!

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2014
I had to add a lot of spice to this recipe before we ate it . How people can say it is great and then add all sorts of ingredients kind of defeats the purpose of rating to begin with. The rating I have given this is as it tasted as made by the recipe, not all the ingredients I added.

Fancy Fish Italiano

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2014
Good, but I did change the tomatoes and used 1 can of fiery diced tomatoes. Instead of the 2fresh ones. It made more sauce to put over the ride, so the rice wasn't dry!

Sausage Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: May 4, 2014
Very tasty and easy to make, but since I had a whole pound of sausage (hot breakfast kind) and only one pie crust , I doubled the eggs, mayo, milk and cheese. Used a 4oz can of mushrooms with rest of ingredients the same.. Divided mixture in half. Filled the crust as stated, forgot the extra cheese on top and cooked as directed. To the remaining mixture, I added 1/2 cup of Bisquick and 3 crispy cooked bacon strips that I crumbled. After stirring to mix, I poured it into a greased 8x8 pan. Cooked for 25 minutes at the same time the other one was cooking for 40. They both were delicious!
