About this Cook
I'm a SAHM with 2 kiddos and I love cooking and baking. I started out just helping my mom when I was a little girl and I was cooking family dinners myself by the time I was 15.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake anything. There is something so rewarding when the finished product comes off the stove or out of the oven. It's even better when everyone loves it;-) lol My family loves my beef enchiladas, but I'm also not afraid of trying new things. I made a Thai fried rice that was out of this world! I have some favorites, but mainly I just love cooking/baking something new monthly~
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always make Tea Cake cookies for Christmas and some sugar cookies during the holidays. I also make meatloaf, spanish rice and black eyed peas for New Years. Those are constants but I try and change it up for Christmas dinner and most other holidays.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE! These cookies are just like ones you would buy in a bakery, BUT BETTER! I followed the recipe exactly (creaming the melted butter and sugar till light and fluffy.) I did not have to refrigerate the dough. I used a 1/4cup measuring cup to make sure I made the same size cookie and got exactly 18 cookies. The only thing I noticed is that some cookies were more puffy when I used my plain nonstick cookie sheet and NOT when I used my insulated cookie sheet. I also noticed it took them longer to brown on the insulated cookie sheet. My cookie sheets are pretty old (10+yrs), but it could have something to do with my oven. It's probably just me, but I thought it was worth mentioning because your baking sheets can make a big difference in how your cookies bake. I baked only 2 cookies the first time around to test it out and see if I needed to change the size or refrigerate the dough. So I would recommend that "test bake" so you don't mess up half the batch. I also agree with other posts that the cookie will look undone in the middle but don't bake longer than 17 minutes. Let them cool on the baking sheet. You will get a crunchy on the outside, chewy in the middle, out of this world chocolate chip cookie! This is the first chocolate chip cookie that I didn't wish it had nuts in. It's amazing all by itself! ( I also did not have any semi-chocolate chips and used milk chocolate chips...They were still awesome!)

Snow Flakes
The only change I made was adding the zest of an entire orange. THIS RECIPE IS AMAZING. I haven't made any spritz cookies because I consider them to be a boring cookie, lol. This recipe intrigued me with the addition of cream cheese, orange zest and cinnamon. It didn't disappoint! The dough worked perfectly in my cookie press. I was using a Martha Stewart press I got for Christmas last year. This batch made almost 9 dozen cookies! I decorated them with sanding sugars, but I have even bigger plans for the next batch. I'm going to make an orange glaze and apply after baking. You could still add sugars for whatever holiday! I plan on adding this recipe to my cookie baking arsenal! It's a winner! My house smells a-m-a-z-i-n-g right now.
