Excellent as is, everyone loved it. I used an extra can of soup b/c we like more sauce. Served with Irish soda bread and roasted red potatoes. Delish!

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2015
Sooo good...even better on day two! I, like most, added some extras; sliced mushrooms, a few dashes of worcestershire, dried herbs. I didn't add the water, just the beef stock and no green beans (not a fan). Huge pot of soup, but everyone loves it, it's going to go fast!

Southern-Style Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2014
This was a good start. I double dipped and the texture of the breading was perfect. The buttermilk marinade was great. My one complaint is that the flour coating was bland, even when i added more salt / pepper and the addition of paprika to the flour mixture. This needs A LOT more salt and pepper. Will definitely make again with changes.

This was good, even better when having leftovers next day. I still prefer my usual recipe that includes celery salt.

Chinese Pepper Steak

Delish...omitted the tomatoes, IMO they don't fit in this recipe. Served with Veggie Lo Mein recipe on this site. Will definitely make again.

Grandma's Polish Perogies

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2014
Usually the star of pierogi is the filling, however the addition of sour cream to the dough gives it a great flavor. Will be part of my regular rotation.

Sweet and Sour Beef and Cabbage

Excellent flavor and so easy to make! Served with Grandma's Polish Perogi recipe from this site, went great together. Can stand to have a little less sugar, would still be great.

Cream Cheese Chicken

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
Rating this based on the filling because I made a lot of changes...really great idea using the cream cheese for filling! I added garlic powder, a little grated parmesan, fresh baby spinach, used light cream cheese, and instead of dijon/nuts i sprayed chicken with canola spray and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Delish :)

Broccoli Slaw

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
Made this with a bag of broccoli slaw mix, was looking to something with it besides add to salads. Made my own dressing (light canola mayo, apple cider vinegar, & pepper), used dried cranberries instead of raisins because that's what i had on hand, and added some chopped apples. SO good, my 7 year old loved it too!

Soft Christmas Cookies

These were very good. I made exactly as recipe indicated and they were a touch dry. I will use less flour next time as some other reviewers suggested.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
These were so simple and delicious! I dipped them, cooled them in the fridge, dipped again once chocolate was set (my family loves chocolate), then drizzled them with melted white chocolate. They were all gone in a flash! I will be making these again and again.

Fast and Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
This was my first attempt at pancakes from scratch. These were so quick and easy to make, my 6 yr old helped me. We added banana extract instead of vanilla and some chocolate chips for a treat and they were yummy! I halved the recipe and made it exactly as is, other than not using a blender and just hand mixing it. I felt it looked too runny, but made my first batch with it as is. They tasted ok, but were completely flat and didn't look very nice (reason for 4 stars). I love crepes, but this is not what i was going for! I added a bit more flour until the batter was to a desired consistancy and continued with the batches and they came out nice and fluffy. I can see how others felt they were rubbery and sweet, but I much prefered this texture to the usual dry, need to be drowned in syrup pancakes you get out of mixes. We were able to eat them without any syrup which I'm sure would have added much more sugar than what the recipe called for. This is a keeper and I won't be buying store bought mixes/batters anymore!!! Thanks :)

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
This was very good. Was looking for a crispy crisp that didn't include oats, this one was perfect, not too sweet or too tart. My ONLY complaint, which really was my fault, was that I stirred the topping too long, so it went from perfectly crumbly to a paste that was difficult to get on top of the apples. It tasted fantastic regardless, but now I know not to stir too much! :-)

Zucchini Tomato Toss

This was a nice change of pace from a traditional salad. I had no green onions on hand so I used red onions, and it was great. Will make again.

Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
I do a lot of baking & wanted to try something new. I was excited to find this recipe here. I made it for Thanksgiving and I was really disappointed with it. I followed the recipe to a "t" & it was nothing more than ok to me. It looked beautiful, but it tasted bland. The filling was blah and the topping wasn't very sweet. I won't be making this again...sorry.
